I never thought about giving Poppy roast dinner!

Think maybe she is too little at the moment?

Anyway there would be NOOO leftovers with my OH around, he scoffs the lot!

But may make her something special for christmas... :huggles:

im afraid mine dont get any leftovers not because i dont want to give it to them it just upsets their stomachs  :(i notice  some of you give gravy to your dogs but isnt that quiet high in salt or is it ok once in a while as a treat i was just wondering as i was thinking of maybe introducing a bit as something different for my 2 as a treat

Well the boys get their very own roast at Christmas and Easter.

They love pasta... especially with a home made cheesey sauce... if I cook gammon, steak or fresh fish they both have a piece each....

Ben loves frozen peas and and potatoes while sid wont eat tatties but he is a cheese on toast guy and they both love a scope of ice cream.

Mine only ever get suitable left overs scraped into their bowl to have for their tea, not as an extra treat later on. So if there is any mince left from a spag bol they have that (minus sauce) and any left over veggies.

I would never cook them a dinner specifically, it would just be too bloomin expensive!! Mine are very happy with their tripe, mince, chicken wings etc. So I don't feel mean!

:b i always make shure i make extra for my lot :b and wen i make angel delight i always make a big seperate one up for them to share ,they sulk otherweise wen wer eating ours :- " and they alwasy get scoup of ice cream in summer and icey pops to cool em down and they love sheperds pie (i also make up another one of those just for them to share) (w00t) i think in moderation a bit of what we eat dont do any harm :D

Well just seeing yours in the photos.. shows they are happy and healthy :p

on the salt thing, yes gravy granuals are full of salt! i used to go to this baby group and a dietition came to speak to us, and gravy was one of the things you shouldnt give kids under 1 year old due to the amount of salt in it, it was up on a list with honey and tomato sauch and jam (all full of sugar)

i would imagine if you were making it your self it wouldnt be anywhere near as salty but as iv never done it i wouldnt know.

have never given the girls anything like that yet, and they dont get left overs either.

im sure they will get somthing a little special for xmas :huggles:

Mine will eat raw carrot, cabbage, swede, spinach etc. They get any left overs shared among them, as I make my own gravy with flour, dripping and stock from the meat, plus water, I know how much salt there is in it, just a pinch!!!!!! They like rice and pasta too.

As for cooking them a meal!!!! I think my OH would imagine I had finally lost the plot. (w00t)

I was a trained chef until I became a mummy so everything is made from scratch here too and I don't add salt as a rule, so leave it right out when I do anything for the boys

Ben goes mad for raw carrots too

Having 2 girls (human) think'n they are be allergic to bread crust, means the 4 leggeds get a bit of bread most days (w00t)

I feel really mean when I hear about the cook up's some of you lot do  My guys live mostly on dry food & beef & mutton mix with the occassional green tripe :x that they go mental for :huggles:

But the crew do like the 'leftovers' from the roasting dish on a Sunday nite, that tasty fat & such from either the chicken or lamb is a bit of a treat, those vegie peelings (hellooo... not the actually vegetable but just the peelings  ) are a bit delish & a dribble of gravy is fiercely fought over - by that, I mean between human's & hounds (w00t)

But I do say, OH who is not doggie, cooks up the beef schnitzel on "netball nights" (nights when the kids are out at netball & we need a fast meal) funnily enough in the dog bowl the next morning is an omlette... made up from the leftovers required for crumbing the schnitzel :teehee: dogs not important in HIS life??? YEAH RIGHT!!
