Anyone got any advice on how to treat corns? Livy was fine yesterday, out on the bike and walking fine, today she's on three legs and i've noticed she looks like she's got a pretty big corn on her front pad.

Is it worth having it operated on or is there anything else worth trying before we go down that route?

What a pisser, just get her back from season and in training and now this

hi vick with greyhounds we have soaked their feet in epsom salts. This helps to draw the corn out then pick it out with tweezers :luck:

I USE 9% PEROXIDE YOU CAN GET IT FROM TESCOS

PICK THE CORN OPEN AND DAB IT ON NEAT IT WILL FIZZ

AFTER A WHILE PICK IT OUT DO THIS ABOUT 3 TIMES A DAY

BET SHE WILL BE WALKING AND RUNNING BY SUNDAY

I ALSO USE IT FOR MY OWN CUTS CLEARS THEM UP VERY QUICKLY WITH NO INFECTION

STINGS FOR ABOUT 5 SECS

TRY IT FIRST ON YOUR OWN CUT THEN YOU WILL FEEL BETTER ABOUT USEING IT ON YOUR DOG

MOST CORN TRETMENT ARE PEROXIDE BASED

HOPE THIS HELPS

GARY :luck: :luck:

YER RIGHT AND MOST OF THEM HAVE CORNS LOL

Our bitch Badger-(Time) suffered with corns-

We used an over the counter product called Wartner-was very effective

have to agree with Gary here. It's what we use over here too.Very quick, and she should be back in training,in about 10 days or les.

a silver nitrate pencil is good, soak the foot pick the corn out and put the pencil in the hole/ peroxide is good aswell

dave chapman as that problem with swift one vicky may be worth talking to him about it if these thing don't help you out good luck anyway

They reckon a Banana skin wrapped around the foot is a good way to deal with corns softens them so you can get them out

I think Marie used this method with Perry  ,and it worked :luck:

i tried everything with billies corn without success. My vet cut if out under anesthetic and that worked.

hi vicky

silver spark has raced with corns all her days I have tried everything ,the best being a banana skin round the pad for 2 days this lets you pull the corn out ,only lasts for about 3 to 4 weeks before it grows back then repeat it ,plus always keep her pads soft I use hand cream.

cheers jim

hi vicky corn n callus verruca removal and compound wart are all vertualy the same product they all contain peroxide salicyic acid and acetone i make it at work if you pm me your number i will gladly send you some a lot of people dont no that it can take up to 12 weeks permenent treatmet to work

ifn you do as maz says and keep up the treetment for a good 3 months it will go for good Boris had a few and we tryed everthing and they allways came back it wasnt that it did work it just once we thought it was gone we stoped treeting it last time about 3 years ago we did it religusly for 3 months and it was a huge wart its never come back

Belle has them on every toe. She never ran for over a year, mam always said she was lame but it was corns. Got the stuff Maz said and mam does belles corns everyday and they now gone. but still keeps it up 3 times a week. Belle now running in the handycap and getting faster every week.

the only way we keep prince running, is by using cornplasters they pull it out then put new skin on to stop dirt getting in. then use a bit of mositeriser to keep the pads soft. or if they are running file the corn down, to stop it hurting
