kenny and pauline were on the same bus as us last year and the bus always takes us straight to hall entrance which just happens to be the hall that the whippets are in

There's always the shuttle buses of course that will take you from the car parks to the main entrance, very handy if it's raining

Its that far?!?!?!? You could take a bus from the car park to the entrance? How far are we talking here??? :sweating:

I prefer to walk as it gives the dogs a chance to stretch there legs & go to the loo before going into the halls, but a year or so ago it was that cold & windy,we took the free shuttle bus  I suppose it's a 10-15 minute walk, depending where you're parked.

:luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

That's lots of luck wished to you on your very first Crufts.

Hope to see you there, I'm going to watch, can't wait!!

Isn't it amazing how we all have to think about our outfits to complement/ show off our dogs colours/ markings

I'm sure you and your dog will both look great with the black suit  Good job you're not showing two totally different coloured whippets!!! (w00t) (w00t)

See you at Crufts

I'm taking a fawn brindle whippet and a black greyhound with white legs so god knows what I'm going to wear .Mind you I'm expecting their classes to clash so Ben will be going in smart trousers and jacket just in case he needs to show Button

Back to the point about metal cages,

IF the KC want us all to use metal cages so that the public can view the dogs on the benches then they should provide them, without an increase to the entry fee!!

Even if they did do this I would but something over the front.

As per normal with crufts its all about the visiting public with little regard for the show dogs welfare or exhibitors for that matter. I think they think we are just a bi-product of the exhibition.

Good point, maybe they should provide them if they want us to use them! Sound as if a lot of people use fabric ones and i think thats what im goin to do.

Thanks everyone for the clothing advice. Cant have the dog looking her best and not her mother - shed be ashamed to be seen with me! (w00t)

Marie.

:- " so fabric ok then  gosh that saves the old back

But I do agree with Marks second paragraph, and hate to sound a Crufts drag, but the 'shopping' aspect, I feel, is getting abit much with trade stands encroaching more & more on what could be easier access to rings and halls for those of us exhibiting. A few years ago we took two breeds, Whippets and a GBGV, halls next to each other.....forget it for ease of going between the two....it was really hard work, never again. :(

Hi Marie

You are going to look fine in black. Just make sure you have some comfy shoes. As far as photos go there are alot of people who take photos ie

Nick Jones of Chelynnah

Louise Tope of Dewerstone

Pauline Oliver of Spyanfly

Molly McConkey of Barmoll

Also Juley and rls23 have some decent cameras

I'm sure any k9'er will take a photo of you in the ring using your camera but please don't ask me as I am renowned for my awful photography (w00t)

Good luck Marie & see you there

Yvonne

I have that with Owen and Button both going greyhounds are in hall 5 and whippets hall 4 so we'll be spending the day running from one hall to the other. We did it a few yars ago with William and Owen but the good thing with William is he just barges a way through  Don't know what Button will do as it'll be her first time at a show

I am always amazed at the number of tradestands that are in no-way canine connected. If you think of the number of tradestands at normal Champ shows and the number at Crufts - it is one hell of an increase!

But the importance of tradestands to Champ show committees is growing now that Pedigree have stopped their sponsorship, and other companies are helping out.

Anyway I think it is a very hard show to attend from the dog exhibitors point of view and not great for the dogs :(

I'll be taking a metal cage - as I feel it is safer for my little asbo  and also the boys who are mini-houdini's. Anyone who has a dog with a bit of Fullerton blood in it will understand!!

Completely agree with you Jo ,

Its not a dog show any more , more like a trade fair

Last year me and my helper got there for 8 am and STILL had difficulty getting throu and onto our benches (w00t) Too many `shoppers` , They should be kept out until judging has started at least IMO.

Apparentley :- " I was bashing all people I was trying to over take, with my cage on my back  I did say `excuse me` hundreds of times too o:) , Its my dogs feet I worried about (w00t) .

Thank goodness this year I will be way down in the Arena with the junior handlers again . and as I have to be there before 7.30 (w00t) i should misss gen public :luck: , But dont worry ive still lots of time to watch whippet judging and meet and greet :huggles: :D
