At the end of the day, in the opinion of those involved the dog that won was the best there on the day.

the owners should be given full credit for all the hard work and cost that theyve gone through to get bto this stage.

as i've said before I know nothing about the breed that won but it was a good looking well turned out dog.

i thought champ' shows were high standard....there were alot of dogs at crufts with high stepping....but why are you saying that the few with good movement dont get praised for that?....someone told me that if the dog moves well then it is built correctly..........wouldnt it be a good idea for a judge to be someone from outside the whippet circle......i havent been in the game long you're correct....but i find that everyone knows everyone.....and the judges come out of that circle...its like me being a referee at a Man city football match....(dont think thats offensive to anyone)

Ch show judging is all about opinion and integrity, i find it offensive that you are new to showing and you are continually slating the judging, im sure if you exhibit had of won, im sure we would have been saying well done !!

After 25+ years off showing, you pay your money and take your chance. I give every judge one chance. If i dont get placed under them, but like their style of judging , i will show under them again. If not, save your money next time, but as those who know, we see people come and go all the time :- "

fair play to the girl who won......great stuff and if ive upset her i take it back im sorry ..must be fantastic to be in that situation .....but i have my opinion about the judges/ judging...thats the point i was trying to get across....

Well done all the placed K9 dogs I saw a few of you but nobody was at the party the  times i drove past. I did watch some of the juding but couldnt get to neare the ring with my scotter. I watched more later in the day when a lot had gone so i didnt get in the way and I even spent 10 minets stimulating Mark Roberts he was that stimulated he was twiching and lafing  :lol:

Thanks for the nice picture of the racing/coursing class, and by the way Beetle does race most Sundays at SPWRC and has won bends finals so is fully entitled to enter this class.

Er... don't think anyone ever doubted your qualification to enter this class, least of all me having suffered (as you know) numerous blows at the hands of beetle on several occasions.

Hi Liz, if you read earlyer in this thread (I think its in this thread) I wrote a few comments about your dog, I commented to several while your class was going on what a good looking dog he was before he won his class earlyer in the day.

i've tidied this thread up a little as it was getting a bit out of hand with personal comments rather than constructive comments (positive or negative)

Many thanks to our friends and other exhibitors for their congratulations on our super day at Crufts! We were delighted to win Junior Dog with Patrick(Elmanash Elixir), from such a strong class. Shannon (Elmanash Elvira) was second in Post Graduate Bitch-both Patrick and Shannon are by Elmanash Phantom(Swayze) and out of Elmanash Exceptionelle(Elsa). We also took third in Graduate Dog with Monty(Elmanash Major General). Monty is by Ch. Oakbark Majors Law at Stonefox ex Elmanash Philadelphia-Phantoms sister!

Congratulations to all exhibitors-just to be at Crufts is an achievement in itself!!

The photo features left to right Monty - Patrick - Shannon (and Roz of course), enjoying some relaxation in front of the fire after their busy day!

beautiful photo.such a pity that some derogatory comments have been made. only the judge can judge a class of dogs.its allright sitting at the ringside judging them, but you dont see what the judge sees.ie teeth etc. :thumbsup: many congratulations to everyone who did well at crufts :cheers:

it seems I may have ruffled 1 or 2 feathers by removing some post's from view from this thread.

Unfortunatly a comment was made that caused some bad feeling members then quoted the post into their own post's or quoted other members posts that refered to the original post.

as a global mod I felt it better to hide the post and subsequant post's that refered to the original post to save further bad feeling.

non of the post's were actualy deleted they were only hidden from view so that the forum Moderator could view them when they came on and decide if the post's were valid or not.

hope that clears the matter up.

Yes, this is a place to discuss opinions and thoughts, but not in such a way as to be insulting and personally offensive, and the comments Mark removed were just that.

If you wouldn't say it to the person's face directly, then don't post it here.

I would have edited the thread myself pretty much the same way as Mark did if I'd been on and seen the comments. And that includes the subsequent comments referring to the original one.

Non breed specialist judges frequently DO judge at Crufts, for example, Marion Spavin who is better known for breeding Beagles judged the dogs in 2005.
