oh poor you nicky, your heart must sink when you walk in . :(

hope these crates come quick

OMG Nicky (w00t) That is a disaster zone . Yep get the cages and hope they settle in them quick . :luck: :luck:

I know I have trouble ,even if I just leave the room. Can't leave papers or books around . Looks like a confetti fight .

(w00t) poor babies missing their mummmy (w00t)

Most destruction by dogs occurs in the first 30 minutes of being left alone.

when you are at home,if they tend to follow you from room to room, sometimes shut the door so they cannot do so.....this way they get used to being shut away from you even if only for a minute or two....gradually they get more used to the fact that shutting the door only means you are away a few mins....over time, extend how long you are absent from the room...they should get used to this gradually.

also if you go out...do not acknowledge them or say bye or anything, also when you get home do not speak to them or look directly at them for a full five minutes.

when the five minutes has elapsed call them to you and fuss them.....this way your leaving and returning is no big deal to them at all.

all these things will help.

ten years ago our previous boxer dog shredded five 3 piece suites, four carpets, two beds, door frames, had the back off the washing machine after chewing through the wall and had all the wires out of nthe machine, had the rubber door seal off the fridge. all the above helped to stop him doing those sort of things again.

Oh Nicky I feel for you - that is an aweful thing to come to. :(

They must really hate being on their own. Im not being critical but have you tried taking them for a long run just before you go out to tire them out - or does this not work either?

Bet you cant wait for that crate.

Yes, I would be getting my bike and taking them for a long run :)

That is quite astonishing behaviour for a whippet!

I think you need to get an exorcist as one or both of them are possessed by devils! Get me a young priest and an old priest - the power of Christ compells you!

 Robbie did the very same years ago  , he would chew almost anything. I never got photo's of his crimes though :b .

He was put into a cage at the age of 8 months as he was chewing walls, door's,carpets, anything he could get his teeth into.

Now he's my little angel o:) , he could be trusted again by the age of 2 :D . He gets the run of the house again o:)

Gizmo is still put in his cage when I go out as he is just like his dad, his teeth would be into everything  , he's chewed the door, wall unit, stair carpet and loads more
