the other day after it had been raining i took the pups outside and they got BLACK!!! so when we came in the first place they went was the bath to get a hose down, (no shampoo, just water) when i took them out and put them down to dry them they suddenly took a mad turn and started taring round the house and attacking each other and everything else

this morning its raining quite bad so apart from the fact i had to carry them out the door as they wernt for budging  they spent the 5mins we were out huddled under the garden bench. more than happy to follow me back in though

since we have been in they have just went mental, taring round the house, first thing they did was run to my bed and shook over OH  :- " but they have also taken on both cats, pinched the cats food (cats never let them do that) ruby got clawed to the face 3/4times and star about 5/6.

They attacked zoe jumping up at her (to kiss her) and she fell over and bumped her head :( (she does have an ear infection though so her balance is a bit off)

theve dug at the couch, pinched the toilet roll, stoll kyles banana, and jumped on the laptop, (this is the second time ive had to right this) and we have only been up 30mins. :sweating:

they are never ever like this in the morning, normaly get up go for a pee have breakfast then go back to sleep, so all i can put it down to is the water makes them mental

does this happen to your whippies??

Yes all sounds very normal to me Katie  o:)

(w00t) YES! Water makes my whippies mental!!!

If they have a bath they go bananas round the garden, dig the sofa and their beds, go wappy with squeaky toys and spin on the spot  :teehee: :clown:

Years ago I had two of my whippets at a huge, wide pond which had nearly dried out. There was about three inches of water and it was a very sunny day so the water was really warm. The two whippets started chasing each other through the water, up and down, spinning on the spot, dodging and darting about, playing 'tag' and going at such a speed!! Every time they got to the water's edge they turned round and ran back into it. By the time they stopped they were totally out of breath, utterly soaked and panting like demented things.

Both of those whippets are at the bridge now but we were talking about that day recently because it was astonishing to watch them play like that. It went on for about quarter of an hour. And one of them normally hated water!!

LOL

yes sounds normal to me though Sidney will run the opposite direction if he sees the hose pipe come out as he hates water unless he is drinking it and defiantly hates getting wet.

Ben on the other hand though will bark his head off and try to attack the stream of water as it squirts out

OMG - go back to bed and start again!

:sweating: so its not just my 2 then :sweating:

anybody know where i can get them a raincoat, wellyboots and an umberella to try keep them dry :clown:

My pippa jumped into the park lake once after a duck, lets say she never did it again! lol

She wont even go in the back yard to toilet if its raining!

Two black whippet pups sounds like fun NOT (w00t)

Phoebs hates the rain and hides when it's time to go out :- " Skye lerks under the bench when I make her go out for a wee and does one eventually but she won't do the other (w00t) :b

So for us a side effect of water is that they don't get to go mad outside so then it happens indoors with more dramatic results (w00t)

My two hate rain but love snow  they go mental after a bath

sounds about right, we had to bath gypsy at the weekend after she got really muddy and smelly out on our walk..............she stood very nicely, but not enjoying it at all :- "

she then shook herself and covered me and the bathroom...........then ran into every bedroom........then down the stairs and into the garden, after about 5 laps and a lot of leg shaking and going totally mental............she dived on our bed to dry herself off :- " :- "

she is hiding upstairs today as it hasnt stopped peeing down :- "

That's funny, I was going to ask the same question the other day. I took Jambo out to the woods and the heavens just opened and the rain was torrential and he couldn't believe it  NO COAT! He kept diving in and out of hedgebacks to shelter and at one point just stood shaking under a big tree and refused to budge! We were walking with another lady who has the most beautiful white greyhound called William who wasn't too keen either but was braver than soft lad.

We then had about a 20 minute walk to get home and he was absolutley drenched when we finally got home and then he went WILD - wall of death in front room, diging sofas and beds and culminating in the attack on his white squeaky furry duck which got a right seeing to :D I shouldn't laugh but it was very funny.
