Dennis turns 11 on Friday - my baby

I’m going to make him a birthday cake and decorate it etc.

I’d love to make it as healthy as possible - has anyone got any good suggestions please?

I’ve googled and most cake recipes are like.

I also need some kind of frosting that I can use to stick on decorations. Would tuna mixed with yoghurt work?

Thanks in advance

I guess no-one else makes doggie cakes, @Josie :(

Nope - a very sad looking post! I found one online that was delicious actually :D

Have you tried typing in healthy cake recipes?
I made muffins the other week (for us humans), and they were sugar free, with bananas, oats and honey :) there's got to be something like that in big cake form! Pinterest is good for stuff like that.
Peanut butter frosting?..

The one I made was with:

Coconut flour
Coconut oil
Grated carrot
Honey
Peanut butter
Eggs

I switched whole grain flour to the coconut and veg oil to coconut oil. Then I used natural yoghurt for the frosting! It was lovely :)

i have pictures of bax's first(?) birthday where i made him a doggy cake and i recall it required a tin of wet dog food i think.

Yep- so bothered I posted it twice!

I'd wondered if that was the one you actually made too, @Josie. Have you considered starting up a dog cake-making business? It's definitely good enough, and you could do muffins, biscuits... all sorts really. And ready-made doggy party bags too, full of your merchandise!

There used to be a grooming parlour in Nailsea that sold posh dog stuff... I don't think it's there any more but somewhere like that would be an ideal outlet and place to advertise.

Ooh, dog party plans... Sorry, I'm getting quite carried away here with planning a new business venture for you. You can tell I'm meant to be working, can't you?

Ha ha don’t worry I have thought about it ;)

I’m not good enough for the great British bake off but maybe I could start the great British dog cake off....hmmm... doesn’t have the same ring to it....

Gorgeous looking cake!
Now Rolo is 1 in march so feel free to make a cake Lol :D:D:D
