I hope its ok to mention this on here,after all its in a national paper.

A woman was banned from owning animals for life after she kept 59 dogs stacked in cages at a "puppy factory"

The woman left the dogs lying in their own mess with no food or water.

She fed them on Chinesse takeaway and raw carcasses and sold TERRIERS,JACK RUSSELLS,WHIPPETS AND DACHSHUNDS for up to £475 each.

Seven of the dogs later died.

The RSPCA said the smell was unbearable and never seen conditions like this and was certainly making money out of this.

The woman from Dorset refused to let the RSPCA rehouse the dogs while the case was heard.

She was found guilty of animal cruelty charges but fined just £100 :rant: :rant:

This is so sickening and upsetting,when will this ever end :rant: :rant: I can't believe she only just been fined for a measy £100 :rant: :rant:

I do wish the reports weren't mentioning the raw chicken carcasses though - A lot of us feed these (not with Chinese take away I hasten to add!) as part of a very healthy diet and I wouldn't want people thinking that this is a bad thing to do

the reason people buy from these places and from puppy supermarkets is lack of education.if hugh fearnley whittingstall did a tv program showing the horrendous conditions these pups and their parents are kept in then theyd close down in a year cos of lack of demand.it just needs a big publicity drive like the chicken out one.i wish some famous person would do it, someone who is high profile but has the respect of the public.theyd get more done in a couple of hours on tv than all the rspca adverts and the people trying to drum it into the public.a guy who has a shop near us bought a pup a few months ago from a well known large puppy superstore.i went nuts at him and gave him a quick 10 minute education into what goes on behind the scenes of these places.he was totally dumbfounded.didnt have a clue about it.like i say its lack of education and awareness.i truly believe that most people if given the knowledge of these places would choose not to buy.this has been shown recently by the chicken tv program.i believe people are basically good and dont want animals to suffer(ok theres always the exception to the rule) :angry: but i think most people would be horrified at the conditions the dogs are kept in,and given the choice wouldnt buy from them

The other thing i think they need to know, is what is the likely result of this kind of start in life for the dog they are bringing into their home.

Factory farmed puppies have massive health problems (wouldn't you if your mother had been bred to exhaustion without time to restock her body with the raw materials to grow you out of?) and then there are the psychological/emotional problems born out of early deprivation.

People see the pup and they have the :wub: reaction (well, we all do that) but they don't realise they are taking on a damaged soul which will need a lot of extra support to bring round

But she has let herself and her generation down

Sorry if that sounds OTT but I cannot believe the cruelty this woman has shown to her dogs and cat!!!!!
