Hope this works.View attachment 30846isn't she lovely? She's old too. got her off eBay

Linda

Hi Linda. What a beautiful bronze, how big is it? I found absolutely stunning old bronze greyhound statue in Paris market but it was almost 2 feet high. I could not even carry it. I almost cried not being able to get it.

Hi Lida, she is 8"/20.5cm long & 6 1/4' or 16cm high. I dont think she is a true bronze, probably spelter, but she is definitely metal, not cold cast resin. She is very old. & very feminine. I absolutely love her!

She is just stunning, that certainly was a fluke to find her on eBay. i have been checking there but all what i got so far is a Whippet hubcap. :b Although I saw beautiful borzoi head walking stick on French EBay, but it was ivory and i was worried they may not let it into Australia.

Being in the trade I tend to keep one of every whippet item we have but the one I didn't keep was the 16 inch Leonardo sitting whippet. However, we sold one in perfect condition but it was returned a couple of weeks later, the purchaser saying it had a crack on it's front leg. It did indeed have a crack but it had happened with the customer and not sold in that condition, however, being a responsible whippet seller I took him back and brought him home and he now has a place by the front door, here he is Reggie the Reject.

Have a look at this then.  I'd bid but I dont think I could afford to have it sent to Australia.

Yes, with the marble it will be heavy and i doubt it will be so cheap. :) You can allways get the seller to give you shipping quote.

By the way, from where did the beautiful girl come from?

I got her from a lady in Sydney. When she arrived & was so lovely I contacted the woman to ask more about her but she couldn't tell me much, only that my little statue had been packed away for about 15 years. She knew it was quite old but couldn't tell me anymore. I would love to know her history.

It's 45 pounds to send it to the US, no doubt it wouldn't be any cheaper, & more likely even more to send to Australia. Forget it! I'd be better off going over & bringing it back as hand luggage!

And Fred .......well hes nearly a statue :- " ......but at least hes Black lol ......

I have a few brass greyhounds which I've picked up in second hand shops but these are my favourite ones.

This one I bought at Crufts a couple of years ago, OH said bring me something back, so I brought him this :- "

It has recently undergone "superglue surgery" to reattach a severed leg (w00t) but seems to have recovered well :)

And I got this through the Bedlington Club, I liked it cos Rafferty lies like this a lot.

Its solid metal & quite heavy.

i was at a show last weekend & there was a lady there doing models of your own dog, done from photos. As an early birthday pressy, Neil is quite relieved he wont have to go looking for something now :- " I've ordered one of Hebe so when its ready I'll put it on here.

(w00t) That is incredibly expensive. That must be airmail, isn't it? I better be careful what I bid for. In any case check before you take too much in your luggage. Before I was coming home from Paris, I sent few things by post, but thought it would be cheaper to pay excess luggage. I ended up to pay over $1000 and when i worked it out later airmail parcels would have cost me about half of that. And i would not have to carry it around :b

And this is what i just tried to bid for but it went for 91Euros and they would not accept PAY PAL.

It is French Sighthound Club plaque from 1900. I got up at 4am for it :(
