:D WELL SAID Tony, as far as i am concerned Teachers Coice is ok to use cos everyone else uses it including the comittees :D you can get a good rubbing oil from the osteopath Goerge Drake, we have always used this rubbing oil and according to Goerge both are legal according to N.G.R.C. :D :p ???
 
There are a lot of things that have a clearance time on them, such as aloe-vera, wintergreen rub ect ....this does not mean that if your test came back showing these that you would get into trouble ,they know the difference between enhancers and natural substances, but we do need a guide line . ???
 
Just found this thread by accident but I would like to add that Curacko and Curacko Cool are both fine to use. I own Curacko (both the products and the trademark) but there is a lot of copies going around and that is what is being tested as I understand it.

It's the stuff that is being made up in people's sheds that are showing up in tests unlike our product that is made in a proper facility.
 
I got told from a greyhound supplier of rubbing oils greyhounds are not supposed to be rubbed down before a race as they get into the blood stream and show up on drug tests but they can use them for rubbing down after they have raced :thumbsup:

i use rubbing oils from george drakes when dogs are running and trainers choice on injures

i thought drug testing had stoped anyway

Lots of things will show up in tests. Whether they're an enhancement drug is dependant upon the opinions of those doing the testing and those enforcing drug testing.

Embrocations and products within them can show up in urine testing either through absorption through the skin or through urine contamination. As such those concerned should seek advice from those enforcing drug testing as they alone will dictate what is acceptable and what is not.

i use allisons pre race muscle toner made by barrier but not made now really good rub :rant: ? also virgiaian amber oils.

allison has some new rub which sound good .

lol virginian amber oils lol bottom of the class for spelling, gary can have some might sting a bit :lol: :sweating: (w00t)
 
I was under the impression that dogs skin does not absorb any rubs creams etc..well that's what a vet told me ,after one of our dogs ran into the rocks at dawdon and hurt her neck ..i covered her in anti inflammatory gel before going to vets with her ..he told me i was wasting my time as the only way a dogs body can absorb stuff is through its pads/feet or mouth ..

odzon mucle injury rub does the biz liquid ultra sound goes well in. just be carefull how you use it. it could blister hose off well (w00t) (w00t) as strong as you will get. web site says will not return a positive swab can be used on race day.

I dont mean to intrude on this discussion, but I work for the greyhound board of great Britain the new organisation in place of the nrgc. I work in the integrity department so im happy to make informal enquiries if anyone is really concerned.

if the whippets where testing what should they test for similar to gbgb???? any chance of an out line. the greyhounds seem more strick as you can expect as more money in greyhounds and betting.
 
Just to point out this is topic was started in 2003!

Dee it depends on what is in the product. DMSO is absorbed into the body to name one example. It states this clearly in the accompanied paperwork. Ibuprofen gels are absorbed by the body apparently but to a considerably lesser extent than Ibuprofen tablets.

agree jac it's time testing was done,by both organisations :thumbsup:

the new fed take 50p a dog for testing and don't test ;)

bwra have the funds to test also.

50P on the bends john since we stopped testing its just gone into trophy bills

The cost of testing is for to expensive for a amateur sport memberships would have to be increased alot and some people still moan at paying fifteen pound now :wacko:

Its not the cost of the 1st test ..its the cost of a positive tests seconded screening that is expensive
 
I don't think it can be done John, even if both organisations combined their finances.
