Cheers Janine,Eric says "hello" to his mum and sister

Ernie looks like he is going to be quite a big lad when he puts weight on,He does look from racing lines. He is a "talker" we were listening to him doing that yabbering thing some whippys do....really funny

He has quite a few bite marks as the lad had 4 other "pet" dogs,He was kept in a outside kennel!! He has a lot of yellow staining on his white bits(even though he has been bathed).Hope to get him weighed at the vets...dread to think what he weighs a moment.

We are only taking him on gentle short walks until he gets built up,then we an start work on his recall. He has taken to his name.....he did'nt have one!

Great support all of you and i will get more pics up as he progresses  :huggles:

Cheers too Meddling  ,Black and whites

Eric is number 1 boy though and he says he is  o:)

What a lovely boy Phill. He couldnt be in better hands. Cant wait to see more pics of him and the gorgeous Eric.

Aww bless him :huggles: what a horrible start he's had to life,& how lucky he's been that you've now got him  :)

A footnote to this: We really wish we did'nt have to pay this idiot anything to get Ernie  He did'nt have a answer for anything,Regarding him.We asked him what have you been feeding him on....Answer:dog food! :clown: Well you don't say! He said he has had his jabs but no record card for them.He also said he's called Errrrr...... Fred. Of course he was....more like "you"

I just worry what the other 3 dogs he has are going through,I think he did not want to know where he actually lived and prob gave us a false name anyway.

He was in the back of a old escort van cowering when we saw him.

He is at the vets with Vicki as i write this.

He has just come back from the vet.He is under weight, has No major problems thankfully. He has been wormed and will be vacinated in a week or 2 when he has filled out and settled in.The vet says just a lot of care and tlc and he will be fine. He was a perfect patiant by the way!

We will have him castrated(Eric will be done later too) and have his dew claws removed at the same time if recomended. We will "tape" them up until then once he gets free runs. Also get him chipped asap.

It will cost a bit to do everything but we will get it all done over time,Prioitise what is the most important.

The main thing is he has found a loving home and buddy

Cheers everybody.

:huggles: Bless you for taking him from that horrible place.

He's absolutely GORGEOUS  :huggles: How could anybody be horrible to someone so beautiful and trusting :( And to not even give him a name

Thank you SO MUCH for giving him a loving home - he'll reward you a million times over in love and devotion

he's landed on his feet now though, i'm sure Eric will show him how to have fun again

he'll probably be quite a character when he's settled and relaxed :D

Well done you  .....Ernie looks gorgeous  .....Glad he's found you all and now Eric has someone to play with .....brilliant outcome and I hope all goes well

So pleased to hear that Ernie has no nasty problems lurking :D

Rehoming the ones in need is so worth it, isn't it :D

Ernie has fallen on his feet without a doubt but, like you, I wonder what is happening to the other poor dogs that this moron "owns" :(

:luck: and :huggles: for Eric and Ernie :*

Well today we followed up a link off the whippet forum,A "advertisment" for a 6 month old black and white whippet dog(Laguna line). We were FULLY aware that this was probably going to be a "suspect" advert after speaking at length to the seller. We had to meet the "owner" half way,So off to Rhyl we went.

He has No papers,No history as such,Been kept outside in appalling conditions,And is so very thin-Basically a neglect/cruelty case!!

We could'nt leave him at the hands of this person as he is in such an appalling state

We paid the seller half of what he wanted to get him away from him!

He "ERNIE" has been bathed and frontlined, ears cleaned and fed.

He seems to be getting on great with Eric and cats and will be going to see the vet

for a check over tomoz.

Early days.....BUT we hope he will have a great life with us.

He looks lovely and I think he is in for the time of his life now :huggles:

Would just like to point out that this was not an advert on The Whippet Forum, but a link posted by a member. The Whippet Forum does not allow advertising of dogs or any other livestock for sale.

Our members do from time to time post about dogs in distress, or dogs they believe need to be 'rescued' from the people selling them, and luckily Ernie has benefited from this.

I wish you all years of happiness together :D

TCx

Good luck with him, lucky boy to have come accross you

:( That's tragic that he had such a terrible start to life :(

Well done you for giving him a loving forever home  :huggles:

:luck: with Ernie, hope he continues to thrive :huggles:

Thanks TC  I should have put it was a LINK that we followed on the whippet forum and Not a ad.

Not as much wimpering in his 2nd night and only 1 wee at the back door,The toilet training needs work as he obviously used to wee in his kennel then had to lie in it.

Thanks again all
