Well, after nine years of making do with the wallpaper in our lounge (we just gave it a quick paint job when we moved in), we decided it was time to get rid. We've spent the last few days stripping off the blasted stuff (we did have a rather nice break in The Lakes over the weekend to break up the tedium a bit , but it was back to decorating today). It was no easy task as there was the usual two layers underneath to peel off too. :sweating:
Fred didn't seem to mind the chaos too much, as long as he had his chair to sit in...
Even when we moved the chair and covered it with bin liner, he still insisted he wanted to lie in his chair...
Stan was rather bemused and popped downstairs every now and then to check progress...
This is what it looked like before. Here is an old photo from four years ago when we first installed our open fire place (we had to pull out an old gas fire and backboiler):
We've finally finished the paper stripping this afternoon. It's been a really tedious job....now for the painting -_-
Sorry about the rubbish photos...just took some quick snaps for posterity
