All I will say on the subject of "Hancock" is that the late D.B Plummer did indeed hold David in a certain amount of high regard BUT I feel that would not be the case anymore! Brian Plummer was a true dog lovermally said:whats your excuse for him keeping the dogs in the appauling conditions then? TOO OLD TO KEEP THEM CLEAN. get real mate the blokes a puppy farmer. I'd take back any pups i'd bred for the dogs sake not the owners. David hancock relied on the late brian plummer to bump his dogs up to the uneducated. Thats why so many end up in rehoming centres. He sells his pups to anyone stupid enough to want one and most of the buyers are novices believing everything he tells them.paul halpin said:http://www.k9community.co.uk/forums/index....showtopic=18962
The pup photographed in this topic is a Hancock bred dog, it is the third I have had off him and I haven`t had a problem with any of them, as for Hancock not taking back pups how many other lurcher breeders will take pups back?? not many and that is a fact and to be honest I probably wouldn`t either in his position he keeps alot of dogs and taking a dog back is asking for disease trouble as not all lurcher owners are as good as you lot on here, yes he does breed dogs as a business but so do others the difference being the price he charges compared to a KC breed, if he was charging £350 a pup he would only need to breed half the amount of pups but how many people would buy them at this price very few I suspect, David no longer works his dogs and does not claim to, the man is 74 years of age how many people of this age are out lamping dogs ? When you buy a puppy regardless of breeder as long as it has been reared to a good standard at 8 weeks old it is down to the new owner to put the work in and rear it properly and train it properly, a lot of lurcher people could have a pup off the best dogs in the country and still mess it up IMO.
They soon become disapointed when they don't become what he said they would.
I wouldn't buy a bloody rat from hancock
