After talking about how long to leave a dog alone, it made me think how lucky I’ve been with Misty. You hear some awful horror stories about people coming home to wrecked houses!
The most damage Misty has done is to my flip flops and slippers; she’s not bothered by anyone else’s! If I forget to put them out of her reach she thinks they’re hers for the taking! This happened this week to my favourite slippers @Josie commented on in another thread

Harri's been remarkably good - for a Welsh terrier. I knew what I was letting myself in for so we were well prepared. I admit I didn't think he'd eat my vase of teasels so they weren't out of reach and he's nibbled a few candles. My favourite pair of loafers now have a few teeth marks in them but that really is about it.

Timber managed to get Mr F's credit card when he was a puppy and did a bit of damage to that. The fun started when we had to call the company. "Puppy chewed it" wasn't on their list of stock replacement reasons. But we thought we were really lucky too.

Kay will only chew dog bones! Even as a puppy that was the only thing she was interested in chewing.

The only dog I've had to never chew something she wasn't allowed. Definitely a luck thing, I think she just doesn't know other stuff can be chewed

Jasper got hold of my mobile phone once and managed to get the back off and the battery out, and had pierced the battery It could have been a whole lot worse - the battery started hissing and letting out noxious fumes which scared him so he was backing off when I found him. I still took him to the vet just in case as I was worried about acid burns in his mouth.

I have two pairs of jeans with holes in the pockets - I'd had treats in the pockets so he'd eaten his way into them

My copy of the book The House Lurcher has toothmarks in it

Otherwise, he's been pretty good, though there's a bit of chewed carpet at the bottom of the stairs. He was really more interested in using us as chew toys....

When Murphy was teething he did chew the edge off the skirting board and when we left him his had the corner off of my cook book. ( it must have been tasty) apart from that hes been really good. Oh ..except for the two times he ate money! OH left it on the table and he stole a €5 note no ill effects but nicely gift wrapped poo!

Dennis only ever chewed some wooden draw handles.

We've been really lucky with Jimmy. Sometimes, when in a playful mood, he'll run off with a slipper, sock or non-dog toy. The only damage he's done is scratching at the carpet, which I'm hoping will return to its pre-damage state soon

It's a thick pile, he's done it before and over time it's recovered. His last mauling though was a bit more severe, so fingers crossed the pile returns! It's not one of these....

When Gemma was a puppy she chewed the tassles off the rug, tassles off the curtains, and tassles off the cushions, she had bits of thread in her teeth which we kept removing!

Having read these comments, I think I may have written mine with my rose tinted memory glasses on!
Misty didn’t chew the carpet, but she did use to lift it up and shred the underlay before putting the carpet back nicely.
She did attack an already peeling bit of wallpaper, which I think she was just giving me the hint that I needed to decorate.
She always chews up all of her toys, but they are hers so I think better she does that than chew up the furniture.

The only damage Folly actually caused was a TV remote that I had left on a table, it was ruined. The big problem was she must have some how selected radio and using the TV's actual controls I couldn't change it back to TV so no telly till I could replace it. Their have been a few times I have had to chuckle to myself though, like when I changed my car, came home and left the wallet containing manuals etc on a table, went in the kitychen to brew a cup of tea. When I was taking the tea towards the lounge, Folly came out looking pleased with herself. In the lounge the manuals were scattered round and Rossi the Shih Tzu was holding the wallet. Folly peaked round the door and I could swear she was thinking 'Oh isn't he naughty'. Now their is no way he could have reached it so it was obvious she had then most likely charged round with it, then hearing me returning dropped it allowing him to pick it up. Fortunately nothing was actually damaged.

My dog does many shall we say inappropriate things, inappropriate to what I want him to do any way, however, apart from piddling on my new sofa bed when both first arrived, he has done no damage to the house. Yay my dog. He only chews his own stuff.

Our teething cocker destroyed remotes from all electronic devices and both our phones...and my next phone. I think it's the scent/flavour of hands that attracts. We've ordered so many replacements from Amazon we're probably on some sort of watch-list for terrorists.
