aslan said:I hope you're justification there doesn't mean that I've offended Lynda - certainly wasn't my intention. I was just stating what I saw in the pics. And, as I said, if a person can only pick one thing on a pup that they are not fussed on, then the breeder of said pup is doing well.Wholeheartedly agree that photos don't tell the whole story - people who are looking at the photos don't live with the dog so they can't possibly know every aspect in order to make an informed decision - ultimately that rests with the breeder.
Add to this also that we all know how whippet pups chop and change their look from week to week. They must be one of the most difficult breeds to make choices on in their early lives.
In my experience with Dalmatians, pretty much what you had at 8 weeks was a good indication of what you would have as an adult. Not so easy in whippets.
Unfortunately my friend was not able to take a pup, due to change of circumstances, which will mean a move interstate in short future. So Solange is looking for homeaslan said:Could not have been an easy decision to make Lida.
Did your 'friend' take Solange home with her? I've got an inkling of who that friend might be - but of course she hasn't said anything to me. So I could be way off base. :b
Totally agree Lana. With the gundogs also it is easy to pick, as you say at 8 weeks, what you see is what you get whereas with Whippies ugly ducklings can turn into swans and promising puppies not fulfil their potential.aslan said:Wholeheartedly agree that photos don't tell the whole story - people who are looking at the photos don't live with the dog so they can't possibly know every aspect in order to make an informed decision - ultimately that rests with the breeder.Add to this also that we all know how whippet pups chop and change their look from week to week.
