My last dog Solo started coming up like this about 20 minutes after her dinner each night. Eventually I realised that it was connected to her food and changed her to Oscar's as it was recommended by the vet as a 'Hypoallergenic gluten free foods based on rice or potato to overcome common food allergies'.

Problem solved. (I never did bother giving her Piriton as she was totally unworried about it and it went down over about an hour anyway.)

It may not be this in Tia's case of course, but worth bearing in mind. :luck:

just an update for you all the swelling has gone down she slept with me and had a good nights sleep  iv been out the garden and iv found a few mushroom one was quiet big and was half eaten do you think this could be the cause ,ther are hardly any stingys or anything in the garden and the grass is quite short im going to cut it again today thou see if i can find anything else that would cause this ,as for firerworks they dont bother her at all :)

it could be the mushroom , bliss rolled in a pile while out the other day and looked like mr blobby by the time we got home :sweating: i gave her 2.5 mls of childrens piriton and it was gone within the hour , she flared up a little again the next morning so another dose of piriton and alls back to normal :sweating: :huggles:

I'm so glad Tia is back to normal this morning, Nicky :)

Do you remember I posted a picture of Ella meeting a hedgehog a couple of weeks ago?? There was a post on that topic from Kat (argos1), here's the link

http://www.k9community.co.uk/forums/index....opic=38205&hl=#

She said that her vet told her Pheobe had an allergic reaction to a hedgie so maybe it was that with Tia :- "

Jinny keeps finding them in the garden at the moment and barks like crazy until I come and rescue the hedgehog (w00t)

Dont they just worry you so much ,i swear these dogs will be the death of me ,they will worry me to death :teehee:

poor Tia, was she bothered by it ? I think it scares us more than them !

Ella got bitten/stung by an insect last week and got a swelling like a pelican under her chin, we kept her quiet and warm and wrapped in her bed

having just read about the adrenalin rush I realise it was completely the wrong thing to do :b (but she did look sorrowful o:) )

glad Tia's on the mend now :huggles:

Poor you, it is horrible when you see something like that and you are unsure what to do - and why do they always do this sort of thing late at night and/or at the weekends when its only emergency vets!!!! Glad she is better this morning

so glad Tia is better this morning :huggles:

it's a spooky coincidence though, as last night Oto's whole face swelled up closing his eyes shut, his nose was swollen to :( , i'm still trying to figure exactly what it was that caused it.

the only thing he did differently yesterday was travel over to see a mate of mine with the other boys and go for a walk somewhere he's not been before.

the midges on the walk were absolutely evil and viscious, i've been bitten to bits and they really annoyed the boys all day, i've been wondering whether he's had a reaction to them

maybe the midges were out in force last night

Just read this,so glad Tia's swelling gone down, poor love,i believe quite a few k9ers on here had the same problem,a couple of my lot back along had the same Abbee looked like a bull terrier (w00t) next day it went down,so i persume it was a sting or simular also i had Lillies in the house, which can cause the problem.
