my mum has just purchased a good size property with river frontage and good size piece of land, but does need a lot of work on the overgrown garden etc when talking about what has to be done there to get up to a decent standard, she was thinking of how to get things done as reasonable as possible or to gain a small income, so we came up with the idea of getting a good size caravan for friends to stay and exchange work for the use of the caravan? or offer the caravan to people we knew from sites such as total lurcher , k9 and the whippet forum for a small amount, the way we saw it was they would have a very cheap holiday caravan and able to take the dogs on the holidays with them, and mum would have a small amount to pay the gardener???

she is also planning to have kennels and hoping to in time be a half way house for greyhounds , living with a family in the day and kenneled at night ready to go fulltime into a family home, there will also always be 2 kennels free for friends from sites such as this to be able to holiday with the dogs but also be able to leave them safe for days out

this is in great yarmouth, near to the beach and also the nature reseve too

your views please

looks a brilliant place, and ive walked on that nature reserve a few times too.

Looks beautiful Tanya... (w00t) They will be some lucky dogs, holidaying there

Congratulations to your Mum on her new place. Looks like it has lots of potential !!

Does it have easy access to the river? Could we bring the canoes down and my little orange rib ? (I take the easy option  )

Good luck with the future developments and half way house for the Greys

Sounds like a fantastic idea. In my experience anywhere willing to take more than 2 dogs is like gold dust, so if she's not worried about limiting numbers (within reason (w00t) ) I bet she'd have people queuing at the door.

It's a lovely place - to be able to do what she's planning with the greyhounds would be my dream. Lots of luck to her :luck:

just bumping this back up as people have staed an interest in meeting up etc so may be helpful to others next year?
