I've been to a open show today where Zana was placed 5th of 5th, not because she was the worst

dog there.........far from it if im honest.....she earned her place by being the only one to shiver and

shake and hug somebody's leg rather than walk round like the proud little girl she is. The last two

shows have been the same. She wont stand for more than a few seconds, she's shakes on the

table like a beaten dog and when i walked her round she was closer to my leg than my trousers.

She was like this at the last show, afterwards i spoke to someone who knows what she's doing

and she kindly gave me some tips, Zana and me have been practicing more since then and trying

out what she suggested. And its all been going well. At ring craft or at home she stands and walks

fine, doesn't seem to have any problem at all..........so what's going on when we get to a show.....

When we got there, i put her in her crate with the door open and placed the crate between my friend

and my chairs. She was happy enough and kept popping in and out. She walked into the ring no

problem but as soon as she got on the table that was it.......bring on the quivering wreck.

She doesn't have a problem with the table at home or ring craft, i should add.

At home or visiting anyone or out walking she is a confident, outgoing, happy girl. She does like to

keep an eye on me to make sure im around but isn't glued to me.

Where do i go from here.......is she telling me she doesn't like showing ?

Should i stop now,

Should i stop showing but keep up with her training and try her again later,

Should i stop everything now and start from scratch later

I don't what to do with her.

ann...dont despair...just give her time and tottally ignore it, has something happened at a show recently like a fight or injury or argument????..etc etc...i remember di dog leia went like that after we were in the ring and leia jumped up and di could not catch her and she fell on her back!!!..di just let other people take her in the ring and it was soon forgotten..best of luck!!!..xxx

i would suggest doing what sue suggested, try and get someone else to show her at a few shows,

and try to stay out of sight she will get used to showing i think its an age thing, we had rotties that were the same

good luck she is too lovely to be kept in the corner :D

bless you ann i know how much you worry but try not too it could be just that she has lost a bit of confidence in things you could get some rescue remedy and give her a few drops before you go in

it is amazing how quickly things can change i do hope you manage to get things sorted for her good luck from us all xxxx :)

Just had a phone call that has helped me see things a bit clearer.

Plus a few messages, thanks people

A problem shared lol
