I Have To Get Rid Of My Pup :(

EMILY said:
Really glad this pup has found her way back to the breeder who Katti1985 should have contacted in the first instance  .
Hmmm,I am a bit confused here? Were you not supposed to having her??

Don't get me wrong,I think it is good that she is back at Nevedith but I am just a little confused by this thread as Katti had said that you were rehoming her?

Thats just what I was thinking  Poor little pup :( I bet it wonders what its done :( but if you can t give it the right home then you have done what was best for the pup

Just to clarify a couple of things,Emily would have been a super home for the puppy,BUT,Katti should have notified her breeder first, who would have had her back straight away!

Once the breeder was informed about the situation, she got the pup back immediately

End of story!

Could somebody explain to me what has happened.

I understood that Emily had offered a good home to the pup. Why has it gone back to the breeder?

I'm not a breeder so am not familiar with this sort of thing but would love to know why it's been taken away from Emily. Doesn't the Owner have the right to choose a suitable new home if things don't work out? I would be interested to know that's all. Many thanks

Maybe there was an initial contract signed to say that if the dog at anytime had to be rehomed he/she had to be returned to the breeder. I know this is the way a lot of cat breeders work. Saying that I have also heard that the contracts are not worth the paper they are written on, as it wouldn't stand up in court. I do know a breeder that tried to take someone to court that had sold on a cat they had signed a contract for and the breeder never had a leg to stand on. But I supose it certainly makes a lot of people contact the breeder in the 1st instance if they do need do rehome. Which can only be a good thing.

Thanks Kirsty. The pup's/cat's interests must come first and I would've thought that the current owner would be quite capable of re-homing their own pet to a good home, especially as they have cared for, nurtured it and knows it so well, but it seems not. You'd think that one move would be better than 2. I never knew that there were contracts or obligations to the breeder when buying a dog. Thanks for your reply Kirsty I feel I've learned something.
