OMG  poor Isla  and poor you Kel :huggles:

I really hope the wound heals quickly and Isla is not to traumatized by this :luck:

Sending big hugs :huggles: to you, Isla and Angel :)

I am finding that especially now having to very young whippets that i just can't relax enough to really enjoy our walks :( Star has had a

couple of minor run ins with agressive dogs already :( and only last Friday a lurcher type dog ran at us, and kept harassing Star and Skye to the

point that i was wrapped up in the leads  while the owner walked on  she could see how young Skye is ffs !!

Wishing poor Isla a speedy recovery. Most of mine have been stitched up at one time or another. I think our vet thought I was suffering from Canine Munchousans by proxy !!!!(Sorry cant spell it) He used to say "see you next week". Touch wood we have been injury free for quite a while.Perhaps thats because I have a broken leg and havent been out as much.!!!!!

Only just catching up with this Kelly ... poor poor Isla, and poor you .. hugs from me to you both, and gentle healing licks from the boys to Isla.

I wonder do whippets attract trouble, or is it just that when trouble happens they have no coat worth mentioning to protect them. I have a friend with a collie who was recently attacked but although the poor dog was traumatised she only had a few raw bald patches where her hair had been pulled out.

Feel well soon lovely Isla.

Bit of both I fear Annie, as I said earlier we have a fenced off dog area in our park - 99% of the dogs who get in are fine - BUT if there's a spot of bother my two run straight over and try to goad the aggressor into chasing them! Heart in mouth time!!!

So sorry to hear about poor Isla, Kelly. :( She's such a lovely little thing who I really enjoyed meeting the other week and it's horrible to think of her being attacked like that and being so traumatised and injured. Hope she gets better soon.

Muffin was set on twice when he was still quite young and I don't think he ever got over it properly although no damage was done to him physically. I never relax when I'm out with them, but luckily I know one or two spots where you don't see many other dogs. I never walk round our reservoirs anymore especially at the weekend as the whole of Manchester seems to be there with their dogs then! (w00t)

Poor Isla. :( Hope she feels better soon.

I think your aggressor there was probably a Parson Russell Terrier - my brother had a rescue one and although it wasn't nasty it was a bit of a loose cannon and very hard to train.

I think there could be something in the suggestion that whippies attract attention, maybe something to do with the way they bound in wanting to be chased sometimes. Oddly, it's only Grover out of my two that gets this negative attention. Never happened to Roscoe, but Grover has been chased aggressively twice. Now I don't know whether it's his personality or whether he is ''once bitten twice shy'' and has body language which suggests to other dogs that he might be easy pickings? Someone suggested it could even be his unusual colouring that marks him out to other dogs! My two are so friendly and 99% of other dogs just want to play but as I said, twice Gro has been chased aggressively, luckily by dogs who were much slower than him!

Ffs look at the state of her, poor little sod :(

The owner oF that JRT needs a swift kick up the backside and

should be made to train it up properly or at least muzzle it.

(Im not a JRT hater, i grew up with them and ours were always

lovable, intelligent. little dogs and as some of you know inow

have a pup booked for my mum )

She was happy as larry racing around with Zana on Sunday

and now she's like that, bless her little heart.

Hope Isla soon starts to heal up Kelly, give her a cuddle from

the girls and me, XXX from her mate Zana

Oh Kelly, that really is a nasty wound, is it going to screw up any shows for you?

Sending healing hugs and kisses to Isla and calming hugs and love to you xxx

That's horrendous, what a poor girl and poor you , what a fright you must have got :(

I had a JR male go for Megan last week in my local park. Luckily it was just a nip she got on her back leg! But when I said to the guy that he should have it on a lead, that it was a bad sign if it was going for female dogs, he just shrugged his shoulders and walked off

Hope your gorgeous girl mends quickly and hopefully it won't now affect her with other dogs :huggles:

Wow Kelly that does look bad :( do hope Isla recovers soon Good luck at the vets xxxx

probably clair we are on holiday next week :( but never mind i just want her well again there are always other shows :)

Have only just seen this :( :(. That injury to poor Isla looks horrific and it's not just the physical healing, it's mental healing as well. You wonder how she's going to cope the next time any dog wants to play (rather than kill like the appalling dog that did this to her). I always carry a small digi camera on me just in case anything does happen although I agree it's usually all very quick.

I was walking my three yesterday in a wood and around a corner appeared a HUGE Neopolitan Mastiff. He dwarfed my three, especially baby Gracie, but turned out to be the gentlest soul and his owners said he had been attacked the day before by two JR's. They didn't manage to get owners details (again all happened so quickly) but these irresponsible owners get away with their vicious dogs causing mayhem and the police wont do anything until it happens to a human.   Even an idiot can see the irony and lunacy of the law.

Hope your girl recovers quickly.

OMG poor little mite  Hope Isla heals quickly big hugs to you both x

Aw, poor Isla, what a nasty wound :huggles: Blue and Alfie send her gentle whippety hugs and kisses :huggles:

Im so very sorry this has happened to Isla :( ( some bloody dog owners are so dammed irresponsible  )

god I hope the poor little mite recovers well, and I hope she can forget what happened to her too...

Big Hugs to Isla :huggles:

(can I just add Kelly that is exactly the same place that my chip had his wound from the Staffy...and also had a drain in

punctured lungs and 4 broken ribs....it healed without almost a trace....just to put your mind at rest)
