This is really not how I imagined my first post in a long time. It's been so long since I was an active member of this community and I was just thinking about this site the other day, now here I am breaking some sad news about my family pet.
Lady wasn't really my dog, she was adopted by my mother and stepfather 8 or 9 years ago and I moved to East Yorkshire in October, 2016. Back then, I was more of a crazy cat man and Lady made me into a general dog lover. I absolutely loved cats, but ever since my asthma got bad, I became badly allergic and I noticed that the more time I spent with my mother's dog and around other dogs, my allergies are not so bad and then suddenly I built a special bond with dogs, whether it be family or a neighbour's.
Being Autistic, transgender, overweight and geeky doesn't give you many friends, but when you have a dog in your life, status isn't important, a dog doesn't care, a dog doesn't discriminate, a dog loves you unconditionally and Lady is just always full of love and attention, she is unique and I don't think any other dog would ever replace her.
Lady may or may not be leaving us, she is 16 years old now, she's in pain and she's not eating her food, my stepfather adores her and I know he'd be in pieces if she leaves us.
I know Lady has been a part of this website so I wanted to thank everyone for welcoming Lady to this community and enjoying her doggy selfies. I couldn't get my mother to take a photo of Lady next to the Dog Forum logo, Lady appreciated being awarded "Dog of the Week" and posing in my photos and videos.
I don't think I'd able to find it in my heart to adopt a dog, my friendship with Lady is too special, she's already marked her scent everywhere in my new home, I even have dog bowls for her so my home is her second home so Lady is considered a family pet.
I hadn't been online because I had suffered a very bad mental breakdown, I also had some disagreements with my mother and I had some problems at my previous home which is why my post today is a very unfortunate one.
I would appreciate if everyone could send some prayers for Lady, she really needs more time with the family, especially my mother.
Lady won't be able to have a YouTube channel now, but she will always have her Facebook page.
Edit: We don't have a diagnosis on Lady's health, she is going to the vets soon during the week, I will add updates on her health. So far we have a strong feeling it is her arthritis that is making her sick.
