HERE HEREWe have tried to explain to all who asked, our position for this year. please will you accept there will beNO OPEN HELD AT THE LIZARD CLUB THIS YEAR.
We a WILL DO what we feel is best for our club
. We do not get involved in other clubs decisions and would appreciate the courtesy be returned.
I wasnt going to post on this subject but stuff it.In response to k9 activity
"We are sorry that you seem to have been misled regarding our committee decision not to hold an Open this year. We are very capable of holding an Open and have always been willing to make the effort to do so. We are grateful to all who have helped us in the past.
We held a successful Open last year and it was an enjoyable day for all who came.
However, despite compromising our entry reqirements, we were aware that many previous supporters of our club and indeed members, chose not to attend. Obviously this was disappointing and the profit made for the club was considerably reduced. The months leading up to the Open were less than enjoyable with many disagreements regarding the format that the Open should take. You are all aware of the reasons for this and we believe other clubs were in the same difficult position.
We are a very small club, with between 4 and 10 people regularly attending our weekly trial meetings. In order for our club to return to the original friendly, relaxed atmosphere that we are so proud of, it was proposed, seconded, and voted on at committee not to hold an Open this year.
To do so would probably have caused the same problems as last year, and possibly the end of the club altogether "

TIME FOR EVERYONE TO WAKE UP AND PUT THE PAST TO REST BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE MAYBE THEN CLUBS LIKE THE LIZARD WILL FEEL IN A POSSITION TO START RUNNING AN OPEN AGAIN. (and a bloody good open its always been)
ITS NO PROBLEM TO US. IT SEEMS YOU HAVE THE PROBLEM. WE DONT NEED YOUR PERMISSION TO IMPLEMENT COMMITTEE DECISIONS. ALL THIS PROVES IS WE ARE RIGHT TO WITHDRAW FROM ALL THE NONSENSE THAT IS HAPPENING UP COUNTRY.TIME FOR EVERYONE TO WAKE UP AND PUT THE PAST TO REST BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE MAYBE THEN CLUBS LIKE THE LIZARD WILL FEEL IN A POSSITION TO START RUNNING AN OPEN AGAIN. I think this is rather the point Mark. The Lizard are in a position to run an open and accept all passports but I suspect that some of them don't want to do that (accept all passports I mean). If they did then it would all be OK. Seems more like a self inflicted problem to me.
LOL love that comment Judy im sure its not meant how it reads. We're not talking to you - we're talking about you
Clubs have the right to do as their members want and as they feel best for their club/s ....... Simples .......
I wish you would all accept the clubs decision and stop posting, nothing is going to change.
WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SAID MARK TOTALY AGREE WITH YOU, IF WE ALL CAN NOT MEET ON HOLIDAY FOR A DAYS RACING TO RAISE MONEY FOR A SMALL CLUB THEN EVERYONE MISSES OUT. ANDI wasnt going to post on this subject but stuff it.In response to k9 activity

I can fully understand why the Lizard has taken this decission, lets face it theres been a lot of bitching comments like if you run for WCRA passports we wont come if you dont run for national points we wont come people ringing round getting otheres to boycot clubs that affiliat ect.
Judy has hit the nail on the head and in my opinion is the way forward for whippet racing (if its to survive) and thats for all clubs to run opens for both passports, it's time now for racers to drop all the bitterness caused over the litter that caused all this falling out.
all thats going to happen now is clubs dont bother running opens or worse still clubs start closing.

Yeah - and another thing ....
