Having recently joined and started to find my way around the site, I think I am now up to putting in a plug for our new litter. Socks is out four year old smooth brindled bitch and as she is clearly the most beautiful, kind and sporting girl that ever existed we thought we should let her have a litter. Basil, a lovely hairy blonde boy was found a suitable mate and 11 little wrigglers were duly born on 19 September and are now staring to run about and play together. The colours vary from grey/blonde through brown and grey to black, most with a little white and showing some brindle or colour. Some are obviously going to be hairy or broken coated but they are changing almost daily.

If anyone would be interested please call 01993 831080 (west Oxon) or email and I'll send a CD of photos.

Aw, Socks looks a sweetie

Nice chunky pups too

Is peony the owner of the stud? Think there are pics of her Basil on here somewhere...but cant have enough! More photos...puppy photos please :D

Awwh, she looks lovely. Greetings (from slightly-further-east oxon!)

Hi Jonathon and welcome properly to K9. I am so glad you have posted more pictures of Socks and her babies ................... they have grown a lot since I last saw them and I know that when I see them again, I shall want to have at least five of them!!!!!!!

Bappit, you are right, Basil is the father and just in case Jonathon doesnt have a picture of him to hand, I will try and post one here. Just for the record, the fawnish/minky coloured pups are exactly the same shade that Basil was when he was a baby, so chances are the pups may 'blonden' as time goes by.

Should anyone be interested in the pups and would like to see Basil and his mum, I can always try to arrange something.

PS. Jonathon, can I come see your kids again soon please???????

Come and see them any time. They're doing very well.

Interesting to note your comments on the colour - the colours are changing all the time.

We have I think decided to keep the grey brindled one, who has been chirstened 'Slinky'.

WOW !! They really are coming on well Jonothan, i bet it wont be long till you and Annabelle have them hanging off your trousers....

I hope that caroline and myself will be able to get over real soon for another look at these gorgeous kids....

and yes they are seriously chunky puppies, even the little one is big. .

:))

nice chubby pups

nice mix of colours

they look great

well done to all

Pups are looking great, must admit the dark ones are my fav

The dark ones a getting lighter - four were black with odd bits of white but three ofthem are developing brown legs and brown patches on their faces. One of them looks like a tiny rottweiler!

Oh my word! the dad looks exactly like the sort of dog I always wanted! when I was young.....many moons ago! and used to read the Famous Five books, that is the sort of dog I imagined Timmy to be, and I always wanted one just like that....so how have I ended up with a smooth coat black lurcher?? is there a little girl who might end up looking like her dad? if so, I could be very very interested!

I have a bitch that could easily have been litter sister to these pups sire she is so hairy! Alas too old to breed from, i always said i would put a smooth dog on her, and tried 5 years ago, but she didnt take. Now these pups have whetted my appetite! What is the breeding of bitch and dog?

Hi Wunwin, sorry to butt in here !!!!

I bred Basil and he is out of my bedlington / whippet bitch, who I put to an irish terrier / greyhound cross. He stands at about 27/28", the same height as Socks, who I think is a collie / greyhound cross ............I am sure Jonathan will be able to either confirm or amend this!!!

now then, are these pups bred for work? if so whats the back ground on the parents? cheers

I was wondering the same :- " I know some one interested in a hairy lurcher, but essential that it will work (preferably long eared bunnies)

Basil is a stunner! and Mum & pups look really yummy too, hope you find really marvellous homes for them all.

Unfortunately 2 is my limit at mo or I would love a little Basil.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments regarding Basil  I know I am going to be biased, but he is very special

Heres a couple more pics of him............
