Poor Badger :huggles:     How many of us on here have dogs which have been hurt by other dogs not being properly supervised out on a walk (I'm assuming this was so), quite a few I would say, it makes me so sad.
Jenny

You are so right Jenny :(

I think I've been quite lucky really. Jacob had a bad experience as a young puppy with a large out of control greyhound, although the owner was very apologetic and clearly quite upset. He wasn't bitten, just petrified  and this has definitely affected him.

Then this bite for Badger  which did make me very cross, as the retriever was really full on, and the attack was just so aggressive and confontational. I did give the owner a piece of my mind :- " Still he seems fine and it hasn't affected the way he is with other dogs, just made him a bit grumpy that he's not getting all the free running the other lads are (w00t)

OMG just realised I didn't finish the first sentance :b What I meant to say was....I think I've been quite lucky really in that we've only had two incidents and so it could have been worse.

That has flown by, I was thinking he was younger than that, but then Manchester was his first champ show, so yes you are right, which obviously you would be as he's your dog!! You know what I mean!

Boooo!!! Looks like you need reminders like a certain someone on TWF too! :- "

Brilliant Pics of the Badge ,Nick . He is such a handson boy Tracy .

MMMMMMMMMm I had much the same encounter the other day Tracy , just got the dogs out of the car and a Lab came charging up from behind ,straight into my lot on the lead . Sharma has ended up with a puncher wound in her side . Didn't look too bad at first but did have a  word or two to say to the lady in charge.

Now looks infected so of the vets to morrow :(

give Badge a hug and hope he mends ok

Dead lucky you didn't need a drain under the skin flap - but just as well, 'cos they often end up with bits of white hair where they've been.

and

he looks as stunning as he did in the flesh, which is quite an achievement for any photographer - well done everyone...

My darling Chrissie Ch Birkonbrae Everlastin Love had a very bad injury and my wonderful vet Jeremy put in drains, hardly a scar and no white hairs.

Lovely photo of Badger

Dear Patsy, you are sweet, and it's charming when people support their vets. Doubtless when yours gets his board certification, he'll be presenting papers to the soft tissue surgeons of three continents to explain how he does it. In the meantime, TC might like to keep an eye on what looks at first glance like a dorsally sutured skin flap to make sure there's no fluid build up underneath it that would need a drain...

ms (who is an anaesthetist, so the only drain she's ever inserted in her life is in her own lurcher, who's long haired and many-coloured => she has no idea whether it scarred or not)
