my latest bright idea was to do a car boot to rid my home of the junk , ive never done one before so all full of high hopes of getting enough money to buy a tent for me the kids and dogs to have a small holiday , sounds good so far doesnt it

well silly me its bank holiday , so of course it rains :D the first place we went to there was no one around and no signs even though its been advertised all week  oh well go to next place and had the fright of my life , as we were unpacking they started flocking and circling like a unch of vultures

well then alfie decided he needed more toys!!!! the idea was to clear them???? and had chips for breakfast at 8 .15 :x

so we made the grand total of £18 , soaked through and frozen (w00t)

im doing another tomorrow (w00t)

my dad did one with us years ago, all our old toys and junk and we made nearly £100

i remember having fresh doughnuts for breakfast though and burgers for lunch yum!!! :D

good luck on your next one

Just your luck Tanya

I've tried selling at a few car boot sales in the past, but found I would rather go to buy, not sell. :- "

I remember selling some of my Mum's stuff, and she had a lot of cat ornaments. I sold one for £5.00, but I have now found out that it was large Winstanley Cat (they make fabulous whippets/greyhounds) and it was worth a lot more. :( Still, I suppose someone was happy they had got a bargain. :)

Hope you make enough money to buy your tent etc. :luck: :luck:

We are planning a carboot sale, was going to do it today, but theres no point with the weather being like it is :( We got quite a bit to go,so we will hopefully put it toward our holiday in September :D

Good luck tommorrow Tanya

i could just budget and buy one but i want to show the kids that you can have many things but you have to work to pay for them , poor little alfie was out in the horsebox yesterday sorting his toys etc and helping pack in boxes

Me...........................Laughing at you hun :- " :D :huggles: Don't worry hun,i,m waiting for a nice sunny Sunday 8) (i hope)

certainly is a great way to teach the kids about the value of money my sister gets the kids to do just that if they want something new they have to sort out all the stuff they dont want and take it to a carboot sale they love it and never mind parting with things they have that otherwise would never be used

its a shame it rained lets hope for better weather tomorrow

Yes quite mad...

I did one a few years back at the school...as you say Tanya people are like vultures...cant wait for you put your wares out...

You end up bringing more back most of the time...

i sold half the stuff but think i was a bit cheap , selling most things at 10p 20p and 50p, a whole box of piggy trinkets i sold for £2 :b

My worst mistake looking back was not pricing everything,

One woman came and asked what I wanted for a load of silver jewellry...chains, braclets...and I let it go at a ridiculous price... :(

and now I wished I hadnt....I want it back to wear....the fashions have changed.. :(

well they say you learn the hard way..

Did you do another one Tanya this weekend?

You have to pick your prices, which carboot you do, and the weather :D All to maximise your profit :- "

Better luck next time :luck:
