Please help me as my beautiful wee dog Macey (Buffy Babies) has broken her neck tonight after running in to a fence. The vet said it is 30/70 as to her recoverying, and this is if she survives the night as she has concussion (sp).

The disc between the 3rd and 4th vertabrae is pressing on the spinal cord and there is potentially a fracture under that.

I am trying to contact Lesley and Scott Frodham but any any advice will be gratefully welcome.

She is less than 4 and 1/2 years old and to me is still a puppy but is also the best friend to my 5 year old daughter. They idolise each other and it is breaking my heart.

I cannot stop crying as to me she is the most wonderful little dog in the world, so kind, funny, mischievious, kissy and cuddly.

I don't want her to go to the Rainbow Bridge just now............

so sorry to hear your news :(

hope your little girl makes a good recovery :huggles:

This is awful...sending healing fibes your way..my girl is walking is after a spinal injury and damaged her spinal cord, and this was almost two years ago...im not ready for her to go to rainbow bridge either so i can really sympathize with you... if you feel she has a chance then give her the treatment and love as much as you possible can BUT you got to think of the quality of life of the dog and how hard this must be...some people may say put her to sleep which i can understand but when its your dog it really hard to make that decision esp if they do have a chance

wishing you all the luck...please pm me if you wanna chat...it helps

this is the third whippet i heard in the last few days with spinal injury and more TCs dogs didnt make it...died instantly

Everything crossed that Macey makes it. :luck:

I am so sorry to hear your sad news. I can understand how you must be feeling. It is devastating, heartbreaking.

I had to send Peat to Rainbow Bridge at the end of February. His femoral artery was blocked and seeing and hearing him in such acute pain with a very poor prognosis made me take the decision that was best for him. He was of all the whippets I have ever had my absolute darling and my first male dog.

It was soul distroying, perhaps the worst part being so helpless to stop the suffering. In the end I took the decision that was best for Peat and not myself.

I am sure that you will be well advised by your vet.

I will keep my fingers crossed that Macey is not suffering and that the prognosis is better this morning.

Thinking of you and what you and your daughter must be suffering at this time. :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

I,m so sorry to hear this, poor Macey :( my heart goes out to you and your family.

Sending loads of lucky thoughts your way :luck: :luck: What a horrible thing to have happened.

i am so sorry for you..hope your little lady pulls through :luck:

Thank you everyone for your kind words.

She is no better today and her left side is poor. She is going through to Glasgow to see a specialist who will advise us.

I do not want her to suffer and only want the best for so fingers crossed.
