Thank you. Younsters, particularly Aila has entered into the 'fruitloop' stage (as it was mentioned on other thread today). They are not always doing what they have been taught and at times it does get a little under my skin. Just this morning we've been in garden, they had plenty of time empty...and when we came in.. Aila stood on front of me staring straight into my eyes..."what's up...what do you want?" And the little bugger kept staring, bent down her back legs and weed, never taking her eyes off from me! It was like she was doing I dare it- challenge.Such a gorgeous pack of characters
they look cute!!! tho them dogs like my ankles to much, lol.Like a proud mum I just have to show some photos my little ones daily play (it is not enough just keep looking at them myself!)

And since writing this post about Eva, things have changed a lot...our pack has shrunkThen our second eldest, Eva...she is almost 2 years old now;
View attachment 111979716 Eva is little bit of a 'odd ball' of the pack. Not only a look wise but in character too...and that must the wire fox terrier in her 'recipe'. She has incredibly soft side to her....but she can be VERY grumpy too ....and oh SO playful! Grumpiness happens most often in the mornings as she is slow to wake up...she likes her 'lie ins', but come mid-day and she start to wake up...looking for a toys and volunteers to play with her (that's usually me). And BOY can she play....there is no end for throwing balls/toys around and fetching them OR ragging a rope....I don't know where she gets her stamina from!
All in all she had adjusted well to the new family order and the fact that she is not anymore the youngest who gets away with many things and no matter how irritating puppies can be at the times....with some help from us by letting Eva have some of her own time upstairs or going for allotments with just me as company...she has stepped up into her status of 'Auntie Eva' really well.
Well luckily I've always been close by when they have started to their disagreements...it has only been few, but even they are too many. I've/we've been able to separate them in time when they have happened, but the last scrap and the final one was the decider as I ended getting the worst of it and I don't want things escalating any further..hard decisions had to be done and quickly.Aw, I thought you had been quiet the last few days. But as you said, better this than risk of injury.
The atmosphere here is quite different now..Iida is very relaxed within herself. Youngsters seem to be MUCH calmer and enjoy some quiet time and they don't have to play in such a manic way that Eva was getting them to act. In fact, it is first time I've seen them to behave like Lakies I would expect behave ...calm,cool and collective in a home envinronment and ready for action when it is called for. It just feels now that Eva has gone that lot of the laugh factor has gone, she was the 'clown' and source of many of the daily giggles. No...they don't seem to miss Eva at all.Oh, that must be so hard for you. But it is absolutely the best outcome for all the dogs. Do Iida and the pups show any sign of missing the pups - or being more relaxed now she's not around?
Thank you for kind words....yes, all the remedies have been put in good use and they work too...though wine is not 'cough' strong enough stuff...You are very very wise, and though it's really hard for you, it is the best thing for all of your dogs. That kind of tension as you know can cause some nuclear fallout with all. Then you risk having a bloodbath if all pile into the fray.
You already know all this - I'm simply backing you up. You are clever, you are good, you are kind, you have no illusions, you know terriers. This can happen with any breed/type, but it'll happen faster with terriers.
Go and have some wine or cake or chocolate or all of them. By doing what you have done, brave person, you have saved a lot of grief.
Oh I think she worked her magic with the new owners indeed.. We know quite few terrier people around here and as soon we decided what needed doing...we contacted another couple who took Eva in as a relief until we find something permanent. But word went around and next day the call came that she was wanted to fill the empty place in a dogless household....and what is best they are friends of a friends so we know Eva was heading to good place. She worked her magic already in the first night in the temporary arrangement....they would have taken her if she would have been much older dog...being elderly couple they didn't dare to take her on at this late of their life.I am so sad to hear your news about the falling outWine, cake and chocolate sound like good therapy!... A tough decision had to be made and as a dog guardian you got the difficult job. It sounds like the perfect home was there waiting for Eva, how could they not fall for a face like hers I expect she'll have them wrapped around her little paws already! Thinking of you though @Finsky, no matter how happy Eva may be and knowing you made the right decision, a painful time nonetheless...
Oh Eva is very happy girl. I've phoned once since my last visit and as everything is so settled with her...I've not bothered her and her owner anymore than that. I just upset myself by ringing her up. Instead I keep my attention with these 'hoodlums'Great pic, they are a lovely bunch!
How's aunty Eva settled in her new home? Enjoying the peace I should imagine
