my 21 month old whippet has caught a chill and so we took her 2 the vets he said she has a head cold her glands were up and she has a sore throat....he then went on to give her an injection anti-inflamatory for the swollen glands then told us just to give her BENYLIN!!!! i have never heard of giving whippets benylin before and just was wondering if anyone on here had heard of this before or even given there dog any,.........he then of course had the cheek to charge us over £50 to tell us this!!!!................any ideas of what we can give her anyone?? she is eating and drinking but shes so miserable it breaks my heart. thanx kat x

Hot Toddy and some vics...

She probably picked up something while her head was under the sea water at Yarmouth Beach last Friday :( Did she have a temperature?

Hope she feels better soon :huggles:

well i've heard it all now BENYLIN?????

When my boy has flu like symptoms i give him echinea drops and Byronia homeopathic tablets and he has always recovered quickly with lots of rest, kisses and cuddles of course :))

Hope your little darlin feels better soon :huggles:

:( When my lot got kennel cough I gave them Benalyn and it certainly did the trick. Vet said it was fine to use.

When I worked at the kennels and we had a out break of Kennel Cough the vet always said Benalyn. It sooths the throat.

If the dog went home with a cough we would advice the owners to use the stuff and if they got any worse to see a vet for anitbiotics but most of the time the Benalyn did the job.

Blooming awfull sticky stuff and makes hell of a mess if the dog doesnt want to take it lol

Benylin is fine for dogs and blooming good at it's job too

Benylin is great ......Its been used for years on dogs with the cough/cold .....I used it about 20 years ago on my show Greyhound when he picked up kc at three counties

one of my horses used to have copd which is a chronic lung disorder i used to give her benylin dont know if it really worked though i hope phoebe is feeling better soon

Hope she starts to get better very soon :huggles: its horrible to see your whippet not as sparky as normal, but at least you are giving her all the tlc she needs and some  :huggles:
