Just a few photos of our beautiful puppy Ruby who is coming to live with us next weekend. We're so excited...!

Oh and does anyone have any good tips for introducing her to our cat gang?

Here's hoping the photos work!

Oh she looks devine. :huggles: Hope she brings loads of love and fun.

Oh bless she's gorgeous!! Enjoy this stage cos my two girls have grown so quickly it seems in no time. I love the puppy stage,I keep dropping hints to hub about getting another pup!!

she is gorgeous. and im thinking of getting a third.

oh aint she looooovely!

my advice for introductions is,as Ruby is a tiny puppy   , make sure the cats have plenty of places to escape to.

i have always found that, once the pecking order has been established, the cats will be at the top of it!

but puppies  can get themselves seriously scratched while learning the lesson!

so, slow intros with Ruby on a lead to start with, so that she can't monster anyone - and maybe some of those tiered cat 'plinths' so that the pussy possee can leap out of the way when they've had enough, would be a good idea.

my two are fine with Dij, but i never go out of the house and leave them in the same room in case anyone gets stroppy.

good luck

Our Whippet pup tends to try and "annoy" our cat (usually very successfully  ) but generally they get on OK - Buffy (our cat) keeps out of Kiah`s way most of the time but when Kiah is in "vacuum cleaner" mode the cats food gets sucked up too

Therefore trying and keep the cats food away from the pup might help relations at first although things will quickly sort themselves out.

Lovely pup by the way - post some pics when she arrives home.

Shes lovely Julie    , good to see you on K9  ( Jill from Caledonian Thistle pedigree whippet racing club :p )

All the best with her, hope you make it back down to the club with her when shes older

Thanks for the advice... I still trying to think of a good place for the cat's food as they get ad-lib biscuits at the moment (we get less 'feed me NOW' grief that way). I don't want to end up with a puppy who looks like a barrel on cocktail sticks :D

I have one cat :charles: who is really likes dogs (esp on toast! :p ) anyway I'm hoping he'll make friends quite quickly with her.

The mini wire-haired dachshund next door is already limbering up for her arrival... don't hold out much hope for him being able to keep up with her!

Oh yes and I'll definately post some more photos when she arrives home.

Ruby is a beauty! All ours were introduced to Chilli our cat.Must say she does tease them alot especially when they all in their crate and she eating from their bowls and rolling around in front of them. :- "

Now they all get on and all is well.
