June Jonigk said:We echo everyone else with congratulations to the Northern crowd for a fantastic and well run open  Nice to see a lot of old faces again. There are so many well done's to mention that I'm frightened I'll miss someone out - but have to say well done to Geoff Cook with Fly the Wind - he's been improving with every run, and making finals since he started the season. Run at Mill is consistent and such a hard dog to beat, so it's quite an achievement  Great to see Chris and Alison Holden's dog Ize A Star win his first main final - perhaps we might tempt them into travelling to opens in the future. (Gail and Paul were pleased for you)
Always nice for us to see our lovely friends Joyce and Gill Sweeney at the Northern - I was particularly impressed with her home bred puppies making their finals - if Frank had been here, he'd have been so proud
Well done Holly and Jacquie for beating my 21 hops on the popo stick - and Lily ran so well for you too
Our friends from Scotland Mandy and Derek, and Brian and Nettie did well in the games too - I almost wet myself when you were whacking the rat  Caravan and table were surprisingly undamaged unfortunately the rat received terminal injuries, so had to exterminated at the end of the games (I fed him to Smidge) - his memory will live on   Full sports result will be in Whippet News
All in all a brilliant weekend, we are looking forward to the next in 5 weeks time - see you there
By the way, brilliant pics Bob and Trish - thanks for sharing
I was more concerned for all of you going across the Thellwall Viaduct I went over and had to slow down as the wind was really blowing. I only had a van you lot with your campers and caravans must have felt the force. Glad you all got home safe and sorry you had a bad time going home.finalez said:Firstly many thanks Northern Club for your hospitality  ,your day ran like clockwork.Well done all the racers and all the finalists and winners.Well done to Jacqiue and Holly on Lily  WCRCh Dancing Queen unbeaten all day  well done Jane a busy day for the Deadlys( your old girl must be running on duracell ) and huge thanks for all your help :sweating: Our two brindle girl flew the Andover flag for us winning the Cons Supreme and the Main Supreme with fine style and yes Scotty after nagging from you and others we let Sash run the supreme ( will bring the cup over for you to clean)  Took us four hours drive home after leaving lovely weather we drove into the worst traveling conditions we have had for a while (w00t)
Err sorry Jacquie - my fault I believe :- " You did say it tasted nice though :cheers:Jacquie said:I did regret mixing my bacardi and whiskey together at the end of the night :x When I woke up on Sunday morning I thought that Barry had set up the tannoy system in my caravan
