Our Man Flint-barney........

Barney had an external fixture kit put on today and Keith Taylor our vet said everything went well

we will be picking him up sometime tomorrow all being well --

it is to soon to say what the outcome will be ---

his prognosis was optimistic so we will live in hope -or die in despair ----

thanks once again to all of you that have expressed their concerns---

sure when i tell Barney he will be pleased lol

Brought Barney home tonight...

Leg fixed nice and straight....bruised and swollen as expected-

Had a toxic pain relief patch fixed to his spine which will need to be removed on Monday-

We have rubber gloves should we need to go near the area...

He's happy to be home.... very relaxed....and sleepy....

Thank you for your well wishes...

Thought the toxic patch was one of steves pads that he wears, peg on nose and a pair of marrigold jobby to change once a year :clown:

Glad to hear Barney is relaxed and hope all goes well with him  :luck: :luck:

dont think he will be able to eat that much (w00t) going to be a hard couple of months for you all, best of luck and speedy recovery :luck: :luck: :luck:

Barney went back to vets for his after op check yesterday

the vet said he was well pleased with the way it looked now he could see it after swelling had gone down a little

he had the toxic pain relief patch removed and the prognosis for his future was very good if things heal as they are

---Barney can get round quite well but has to stay on his lead for 8 weeks whilst out of his cage rest and time are the important factors now along with a bit of luck ---

we are going back on Friday to vets think maybe just for a second opinion as our vet was on his day off yesterday ---but will be there Friday----

he is certainly a different dog to the one i took last week when he broke it---

steve

Pleased to hear he is doing fine.... don't suppose you'll know much until a few weeks time :luck:

A few pics-not for the squeamish!

The top pin has been bleeding a little-he's been back to Bolton for a dressing change-but because of the need to keep it very clean and distance form us to vet-we have been told how to change his vet wrap etc ourselves-till he sees vet again....

The metal bits are very sharp and the vet wrap basically protects the dog from scratches-

pic 2

the bruising as more or less gone 'compared to how it was'......

another....

he's very good whilst we are cleaning the area and packing it with iodine gauze-just needs tit bits of food to pass the time!

Last one-all wrapped up in Pink!

Lamp Shade helmet on and ready for his dinner.......

another 6 weeks of this! :- "
