Its been 2 years to the day since we said good bye to our first whippet, Sunny :(

http://www.k9community.co.uk/forums/index....topic=24116&hl=

I still think about him every single day, and I still shed a tear more often than is reasonable after this amount of time, but he really was my very special boy.

I was sent this by a K9'er a short while after he went over the bridge - it sums him up perfectly and I'll never forget your kindness for sending it :huggles:

To My Mum

Mum, I did not want to leave, I wanted to be with you

Right there beside you everywhere in everything you do

Someday soon the pain will ease and then you’ll know I’m there

Just waiting my chance and watching, from the top of the stairs

You’ll feel my presence rushing by, doing my own little thing

My tail will be wagging and spinning around

I’ll be barking as though I could sing

Don’t cry and grieve, please don’t despair, I’ll try my best to come through

To show you I’m alive in spirit, I’m still your Mr Woo

I love you Mum

It still breaks my heart that he is gone - I just hope naughty Indy let him in ;)

That poem is lovely :huggles:

I'm thinking about you Alison at this sad time. Cherish your memories of Sunny for a part of him will always be with you. I think whippet owners are given larger hearts than normal to keep thier little people close by forever.

Love Jenny

The poem is lovely - I know you still miss him so much - he was a very special boy and had a very special family :huggles:

Sorry to here of your sad news :(

I have just lost one of my whippets as well :( :( and we miss him so much, they will never be forgotten as they are a part of our family and our life :huggles: :huggles:

The poem was beautiful

Hi Alison :huggles: :(

Can't believe it's been two years. Sunny was a gorgeous boy.

I go to pieces everytime I see a rainbow (where Moggie's playing with Doofie and Chloe) so tears and heartache are understandable.

Our memories of our best friends are worth their weight in gold.

Hugs from all at Zilloot :huggles:

oh dear :'( That poem has made me weep, i cant imagine how you must have felt, i am dreading the day we have to say goodbye to Gypsy,

Sunny looked like a very special boy :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

made me cry did that poem :huggles: its good to rember the good times you had together and im shure ther were many :huggles:

no wonder you still cry for him I remember your post when he went. Some are just soooo special, we are lucky to have been 'chosen' to be their owners.

Think of all you lovely memories to help you through :huggles: :huggles:

I really feel for you. Everyone is different when it comes to how long it takes to get over the loss of a much loved pet. Two years to some may seem like alot but its not. He obviously was very special to you and you should not feel that its wrong that you still think about him and get sad sometimes. It took me 4 years to get over the loss of my first dog. When I thought about him it hurt so much that he was gone. Only now can I think of him I smile and remember the good times we shared. You will feel the same too when the time is right. :huggles:

Its a bit corny, but it is nice to know that you're not the only one who feels like that :huggles:

I must have been very, very over emotional when I started this thread - I didn't even spell my poor bloody dog's name right :- "

Sorry Sunny :b
