i hope these pics are of some help i do have more but think ive taken up enough space! :- "

I like the idea of an off the floor bed....may have to design that into mine :- "

the two sides are raised sleeping areas and both have cut outs at bottom to take beds under there too

in a household like mine kaz i find them essential as if i have to leave suddenly for thomas you dont get the territory issues with people they dont have much to do with and they feel safe in their space and area and im happy if they are

Me too Kaz, but have you seen the price of some of them (w00t) Wonder if I get a shed - hubby could build a run as good as those. :- "

Thats what we did....the run cost £368 which was 1.5m x 2.4m with roof

the shed cost £228, but i have seen ones at B & Q for £79

The run should last for a very very very long time and the shed can be replaced if it rots

The website is www.caninekennels.com

The do loads of different ones, including the all wood ones

Thanks for the pics Tanya

Sorry not replied sooner but only just noticed this! didnt realise you'd put any on

Certianly given me something to think about. I didnt realise they so popular either. Been thinking same as you too Janis, about buying a shed and adding a run, or a breezeblock design one if not.

kimandTilly.... i put a post after your pics saying thanks! :- " :huggles:

I can imagine Fred and Stan's horror if I switched them to a kennel when I went out (w00t) . They've got the whole house to themselves when I go out, and Fred loves to snuggle upstairs and nest in our duvet. Stan likes to sleep in the armchair next to the window so he can watch the world go by, and feel free to bark at folk as they walk past our door. :- " They get taken out every lunch time for 'comfort breaks' :D if both of us are out at work all day (2-3 days a week with hubbie's shifts).

I appreciate if you introduce dogs to these as youngsters though, that they will see them as their home. No criticism is intended by my comments above.

Do these shed kennels need panel insulation in the winter or are heat lamps sufficient to keep them dogs warm? Just curious.

the sleep area in mine is warmer than my kitchen in winter , im putting cladding inside hopefully this summer, its ok looking at photos but you are really best to have a look and see for yourself and feel the warmth or coolness of various constructions, mine was planned and built to order so i hoped id covered every angle? also thought needs to go to the covering of the end of the wire mesh as can cause a serious injury if not covered correctly, im happy with mine and so it seems are the dogs, i had a raised sleeping area made to accomodate duvets beds etc and to raise the dogs free from draughts, they do have plastic beds under the raised area so they have a choice too? 1 heat lamp is left on all year round in real warm weather is just at night, winter can go up to 3 heaters. i would quite happily sleep in there should the need arise! lol

also my dogs have to freedom of the garden 24/7 should they so wish?
