Sorry to hear that Trish, they are such a worry sometime. I think it's probably wise to look into it as there are some things that can only be diagnosed with an x-ray unfortunately. Gelert's had 2 quite bad toe-break injuries which he's recovered from very well (touch wood it stays that way :sweating: ). Hope it's nothing serious and she's back to normal very soon. :luck: :huggles:

thanks elizabeth, nice to hear gelerts toes are still doing well,i have a gut feeling phoebe as a thorn in her nail bed,but if she as a fracture they will leave it to heal itself  poor girl must be so fedup now of staying on the lead and hobbling around the house :( ,just doesnt get any easier leaving them at the vets does it :(

Well, that's how ours healed :b The trouble was he didn't actually go lame, or only very slightly for a day perhaps. He was actually shifting his weight off the toe, and the only real sign was some more muscle on one side. We only found out it had been cracked when we had the x-ray for the second break, so I always get every little thing checked out straight away now.

It's never nice putting them under anaesthetic, and a worry while they're there, but G's recovered from it quite quickly all the times we've had to have it done over the last 18 months; hopefully Phoebe will do just as well :huggles: :luck:

Hi Trish, sorry to hear about Phoebe :( yes its really hard to leave them in the vets cause it then leaves you at home wondering and waiting but its definitely for the best, hopefully they will get to the bottom of it and your Phoebe will be back home right as rain before you know it

:luck: Good luck Phoebe and Trish :luck: . She'll be home and safe before you know it. :huggles:

Sorry Trish I've just skimmed through (so have probably missed all the info) .... but .....Has she been to a Greyhound vet ?? ....as pet vets really don't have a clue about lameness IMO :b ....They often take a stab in the dark and £200 later you and your dog are no better off .....A second opinion is often worth a go .... :luck: :luck: Phoebe ...Hannah and Lethal XXX
