Recently returned home after a holiday on our narrowboat. Pics of bird life - it made my day to photo the Kingfisher which flew by us and then landed.

Great photos, I really enjoyed seeing them. What fantastic luck seeing the kingfisher! :luck:

Glad you had a good holiday Sarah  lovely pics, well done for catching the one of the kingfisher :) They are lovely birds.

Great Pictures - it's amazing going over the aquaduct isn't it - looks so easy to just fall off the side with no path...or does it have railings now?

Great piccies  Ditto everybody else about the kingfisher - not the easiest bird to catch on film. We have a regular pair close to us on the River Aln and I never lose the thrill of seeing them :D

Lucky you catching a kingfisher. (w00t) That muddy bank behind it is perfect kingfisher breeding ground. It's a bird that's on my wishlist of must get photos.

That aquaduct looks terrifying. I saw a program a few months back where they showed a narrowboat going across it. There was barely any clearance on either side of the boat. Hair raising.....I couldn't have done it. (w00t)

No, there are no railings on one side. (w00t) I made sure all the dogs were on board while we went over it. I don't like heights either.

Thanks - yes it is a rex piggy. Over the years I have had a few guinea pigs (smooth haired and long haired), but only these two left now. They are both 6 years old in October. I had gone into a pet shop (with no plans to buy) and saw the tiniest little black/white piggy and felt so sorry for it as it looked as though it should still have been with its Mum, so I said I would have it. They then showed me the other tiny grey one so I had to have her too. :- " :- " I really do love the rex coat texture.
