Little Ben has been under the weather.... Saturday night he had a very high temp but was still drinking and just wanting cuddles. :huggles:

He slept up with us and I know he wasn't right as he stayed in his bed by me all night and never asked to come up to sleep between us.

Then yesterday Sunday as the day went on he became him old self... during Sat & Sun he was loose when he went to the loo.

He drank water and last night ate some chicken and pasta I cook ed for him and seemed more himself.

I took him up to bed again with us last night, but he was complaining to come up on the bed with us and so we popped him back down in the utility room where he sleeps and he nodded off.

I came down to him this morning (I am so sorry for the TMI) to find splats of puddles of orangey/brown doodles, most of which is red blood (w00t) :(

He is sleeping all the time and the courier has just been the door and he never went to see him off as he usually does.... there was a little bark along with Sidney but not much else.

I am going to get the vet to see him this afternoon ... just wanted to know if any one else had experienced this or has a rough idea what it could be.

I am out of my mind with worry as this isn't the Ben we know and love... he didn't even try to make a bolt for Rob's room to wake him up this morning... he has no interest in anything. :(

I have been in tears all morning as we had a greyhound who had cancer of the spleen early in the year we had Sidney and I saw it all again this morning :(

The vet appointment can't come soon enough....

TIA

poor Ben, hope it's just a bad tum, Ella had this when she was a puppy, diet of rice and bland chicken for a few days and she sorted herself out, the vet didn't give any injections.

Hope he's ok :luck: :luck: at the vet.

Hi, I don't have any advice but just wanted to say good luck at the vets :luck:

It's awful when they are not themselves :(

Try not to worry too much, I know its easier said than done. The vet will be able to take samples and Im sure will tell you what is wrong. It could be a number of things...

Maybe he has eaten something nasty.....Kobi once had blood traces in his poos and after a few days he was right as rain. :huggles:

Dont try to be too negative, sometimes these little whippets amaze us...bouncing back from the brink....anyway good luck at the vets...lets hope its nothing sinister... :luck: :luck: :luck:

Thanks everyone :huggles:

I must admit I did search on the net and it said if left untreated he could die within a week and it sent me a little over panicked :b

The appointment is at lunch time so I will let you know how it goes :huggles:

Good luck, lets hope you get some better news after the appointment... :luck: :huggles: :luck:

Don't panic, although I know that is easier said than done. I am sure that the vet will get him sorted.

I do know what you are going through as we are having major health issues with Albus. He is classed as very serious and spent three days at Liverpool Vet Hospital in the middle of July. He is still unwell and undergoing treatment.

If you need a chat you can pm me or email me. I will send you and pm with my email address in.

Kind Regards

Jackie

Good luck at the vet, Rach and Ben :luck: :luck:

I hope it's just a gastro-enteritis bug, but make sure they take samples for testing, hun.

I will PM you too  Jxx

Don't worry, Pye was the same a while ago, he was passing blood too. The vet said there was a bug going round. This often happens during the holiday season when dogs from out of our area come down, and bring their bugs with them!

Just remember to keep his fluids up. Hope you have better new this afternoon. :huggles:

My Collie x has had this occasionally in the past, he always gets over it with a 24 hour starve.

Lots of love, hugs and prayers for you all. He's a young fit boy I'm sure he'll bounce back quickly :huggles: :huggles:

Good luck to Ben at the vets today :luck: Hope he is feeling lots better soon :huggles:

Aw thank you all for your PM's emails, kind words and support.

We are back from the vets... It was the vet I like, so I could talk freely with him.

The vet has taken a sample, Ben very kindly gave him a fresh one :x and by looking at it he thinks Ben has a doggy version of IBS

He is sending the sample off for testing to make sure but has given Ben a anti inflammatory and anti biotic injection and I have pills to give him too.

Have been told to not give him anything but water today and then very light from tomorrow and the rest of the week and he wants to see the little fella again on Friday.

Ben has no control over when he goes... he doesn't realise until it's far to late and it smells more gastric, sicky smell than poo if that makes sense.

He is sleeping in his mat and can't be bothered to do much else than lift his head up from time to time.

Usually he is up on the sofa with someone having a cuddle of following me around as I work or tidy the house.

I am missing my shadow today :(

I even made a ham sandwich for lunch and Ian has just popped home and grabbed himself a pork pie, both of which Ben usually goes mad for, but he isn't interested at all :(

I will keep you posted on how the little fella is doing :huggles:

Thanks again xxx
