Really hoping everything is all right with Pippin and Poppy. :luck:   :luck:   :luck:
Just to give you hope - I remember reading about someone who lost their whippet bitch up in the Peak District some years ago (think Nicola's photos) around August time, and after much searching gave up hope of ever seeing her again. :(   The following April she was spotted and recovered, after spending an entire winter up on the very bleak and snowy mountains, and seemed none the worse for wear, though had developed quite a thick coat and a great liking for fresh rabbit!

Very best of luck to all those who are searching for them :luck:   - such a worrying time.

I remember that bitch , owned by Dennis Hill ( who my cat Dennis is named after !) .

The winters in the peak Diustrict must be as hard as anywhere in the UK Lana , If the girls can find food together :luck: , with luck they will soon be home , Fingers crossed

We have everything crossed for these two dogs. Really hope you have good news soon :luck:

Pippin  :(
The one who chewed the duvets?

Yes Rae! I have tried to stay pretty strong but just that simple sentence and memory of her naughtiness made me burst into tears.

I bet she would have killed for a duvet last night. There is no news this morning and now I am distraught thinking about that little dog out there in the cold for two nights in a row. God I hope they find her and Poppy today

It's hard to think of Pippin being a tough, bush-hardened, bush-wise dog. She was always such a little girly girl that I am just filled with anguish at how she must be thinking and feeling out there lost, add to that the worry of dingoes and snakes and other dangers that could befall them. It's just all a bit much to bear at present.

On the upside she does have Denhills in her pedigree Jax and Beth, so hopefully the resilience of her relative will prove to be in her as well.

thanks everyone for you posts and pm's. Please keep wishing for their safe return.

I hope they find their way home soon.

I also know a case of a Whippet who survived living wild for deveral months. It was a little bitch bred by a friend of mine in Europe. Thiis girl's owner went off the rails, started drinking heavily and then moved leaving her behind. Fortunately they lived in a small village so when people saw her in the forest they realised what happened. However, nobody could catch her. Finally they somehow found out who bred her and my friend went out there and managed to get her. That was last year the bitch was 9 years old, and she made herself little bed in dry grass in some thick bushes, where she lived for some 3 months. She is now living with my friend where she will stay for rest of her life.

So do not dispair! There is a good chance of them surviving. And at least they have each other for company and warmth. :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

Thanks for the comforting story Lida - but I can't even be certain that they are still together. Honey came back alone, why didn't the other two come with her? And Natalie said Honey was the one she felt least likely to return of her own accord. She's a nervy bitch and doesn't really like anyone but her owners so Nat thought that she would stay hidden for sure until she could hear Jim or Diane. But she came wandering over the hill late yesterday on her own and then Jim drove out to pick her up.

Jim went out with her again after she'd come back, out the way she came, for about an hour (the last of the light left) walking and calling but no sign of them.

Natalie has had to go grooming this morning but will go out again when she returns home and will call me as soon as possible.

They are lost in the Cassilis area, which is near Mudgee NSW, so if you know anyone who lives around there please ask them to keep their eyes open. Pippin is a small solid brindle bitch with a black mask and Poppy is a brindle with white trim and white blaze.

Just caught up with K9 ..... Oh Lana :luck: :luck: :luck: that you find them soon

We're all keeping our fingers crossed over here too. :luck: :luck: :luck:
