Thinking of you and your family Lesley, and sending healing thoughts to Sienna for the night ahead :huggles: Try and get some sleep :huggles:

 Only just seen this post....so sorry to hear about your beautiful girl Sienna :( Everything crossed for you that she makes a full and speedy recovery :luck: :luck: :luck: :huggles:

Lesley when William was hit by the car last year he suffered nerve and mussle damage all the xrays showed no broken bones. After 4 days the vet said he was completely paralysed in his shoulder and would never use that leg again. Then the next day I was showing visitors that he didn't respond when you pinched his toe and he squealed. From that day on he made slow progress, Using that leg to hold a bone putting it on the floor to balance himself so that he could cock his leg. The improvement was slow but steady until he surprised every one and is now completely sound.

Any improvement no matter how small it may be is a step in the right direction nerve damage takes a long long time to heal

Here's hoping that she makes a full recovery. We never thought William would walk again on 4 legs but now he goes fun racing with Button

We've got all our fingers and paws crossed. :luck:

very gentle :huggles: from us - hope there are some good signs soon :luck:

Any more news this morning Lesley... :huggles: :luck:

Just seen this - so sorry to hear that the lovely Sienna has had an accident. Knowing how much your dogs mean to you all I know you'll all be so worried. Big hugs for everyone. :huggles: and :luck: to Sienna.

Sienna is a really strong dog Lesley, I'm sure she'll amaze you and be back home and in charge again in no time. :luck:

Thankyou Helen, it helps to know that William has recovered gives me more hope :huggles:

Thankyou all for your thoughts and for all the lovely pm's of support it has really made a difference this has got to be one of the hardest times of our lives and its so good to have people supporting us who know she's not 'just a dog' :huggles:

Not a lot of change over night, although she is trying to get up but obviously can't because her body isnt working, she will be so frustrated :( the nurse tilted her up a little which made her happier, she's not eating at the moment, but she has a drip in so will get what she needs and they will shringe some food in if she needs it

She is getting lots of cuddles and is loved already by the nurses, she has pillows to lay on and a blanket to cover her, so she's very comfy :)

I am so desperate to see her but I will be able to tomorrow because she will need to go back to my own vets,as the hospital closes on a Monday as it is a weekend emergency hospital,if we can do for her what they are I will ask if I can bring her home,

I will ring again this afternoon

Oh bless her. :huggles: I do hope she surprises you all and makes a good recovery, albeit a slow one. :luck: :luck: So sorry you're all having to go through this trauma.

Lesley, our whippets shape our lives in one way or another. There is so much we would have done or not done without them......they're not just dogs...they are part of the family and a big influence on how we lead our lives. Just couldn't be without them. :huggles: So what I'm trying to say (rather clumsily and stating the obvious as usual) is none of us feel that any of our dogs are 'just a dog'. We really do sympathise with Sienna's plight and the hurt and trauma you are feeling as a result. :(

Things are sounding more positive, Lesley

Still keeping paws and fingers crossed here - :huggles: :huggles: for Sienna when you see her xx

OMG I have only just read about Sienna's accident. :( I am so sorry to hear this, but she sounds like she is being well looked after. As others have said, it is amazing how well they can heal after injuries such as this, so keep your spirits up, we are all thinking of Sienna, you, Andy and Jordan. :huggles: :luck:

Have also only just seen this thread and feel so much for you all. I guess her sister and the others are missing her almost as much as her human family. Sending lots of healing thoughts and hugs to you all. :huggles:

A special pat to Sienna when you see her tomorrow. maybe seeing her family will help her on the road to recovery.

keeping all fingers and toes crossed sor Sienna, here, glad she's a bit perkier and it's a good sign if she's eating, must be awful having her away from you

:luck: :luck: with a healthy outcome, even if it does take time

:huggles: :huggles: thinking of you all

She now has some feeling in her front legs :D :D :D :D

She won't eat but the vet is giving her some food via shringe and she's on a drip so she's not overly concerned as Sienna dosen't have a massive appetite anyway and is more used to eating in the evening, the vet says if its ok by my vet I might be able to care for her at home as she thinks it will be good for her :D

Callie has been very quiet and clingy the whole weekend which is unlike her she is missing sienna terribly it breaks my heart. :(

I want to say a special thankyou to Pengun1(Dawn) for sending Reiki healing thoughts to my girl, and to everyone else who has her in their thoughts through her ordeal,I'm sure she feels them she is improving, so thankyou so much :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:
