jane you truly are her saving angel, :huggles: i really dont know what her future would have beenjinnyfizz said:Poacher had her final check up with the vet tonight and hasbeen discharged with honours!!!!!
She is using her leg all the time now and, whilst it will always
be shorter than her other hind leg due to the primary calcification around the
stifle joint which took place during the first couple of weeks after the injury, she
has no soft tissue swelling left now and has 75% movement in that joint.
Add this to her perfect hock and hip joints in the leg and you have a
"nearly as good as new" honorary whippet
Her vet said that she is a minor miracle (w00t)
She has no pain and the only lameness remaining is conformation
unsoundness rather than discomfort
So ............. Poacher will have the occasional go at lure coursing next year as she
has the sharpest hunting instinct I have seen in a sighthound so far (w00t) and
I'm sure she'll love it!!
I may even give her a go at lurcher racing (as she is really a lurcher and not
a whippet :b ) just to see how she fares
Not bad for a young girl who, less than 3 months ago, had been placed on death row
awaiting execution
Well done my little Poachie girlie, you have made me very, very proud :huggles:
