Alfie didnt really look too bad at first- I looked at his eye which was a little swollen and couldnt see anything so thought he had just bumped it-but as it was punctured from the inside you couldnt really see from the outside. I just had a feeling things were not right so took him in- my vets were very quick in referring him. I was sickened when they told me what they had found. It is apparently very unusual for an eye to be punctured via a nostril Trust one of mine to be peculiar  Glad Annie recoveredI know Mr Warren at Westmoor Vets in Tavistock ........... he is a very skilled eye surgeon so Alfie has had the best he could get My neighbour's westie had a weepy eye a couple of weeks ago. After a few days she took her to the vet and she was referred immediately to Mr Warren. He operated there and then because something had pierced her eye and had set up an infection which was about to burst her eye open!!!! The eye actually ruptured whilst she was on the operating table. Thank goodness my neighbour got her to the vet when she did - there were hardly any symptoms, just a bit of weepiness and we all see that in our dogs from time to time and generally speaking we just bathe it and keep a watch on it, so she was very lucky indeed.
Annie, the westie, has recovered 100% even though there was a possibility of losing some or all of the vision in that eye
Keeping my fingers crossed for Alfie :luck: :luck: xx
