what a day, kiplin was struggling to walk today so we took him to the vets early for his post op.vet said it was just swelling and the bruising causing it .so he put him on metacam.went for a walk in afternoon molly knocked one of her toe nails off blood everywhere.luckley it stopped shes ok now.then when trish was putting kip some arnica cream on she noticed two stitches had come out.back to the vets kio and trish went and he had two staples inserted.so thats our three bad lucks :sweating:

i really wish i knew what he had done but judging by the bruising im sure hes hit something more than brambles maybe a tree??,deer,i will never know :( but least he will mend in time :huggles:

hes a lot more settled tonight :)

Its frightening to think what can happen!! but the good thing is for Kiplin, is that hes now on the right road

Bless him :))

Hope Kiplin had a good night Trish and wasnt in pain...

once those bruises have come out, Im sure he will feel a lot better.. :huggles: :luck:

think kiplin turned a corner last night :) ,he was put on metacam and we have to massage his leg twice a day to get the swelling down, then later last night he had to go back to the vets because 2 stiches came out of his wound and was replaced with staples, well he slept really well last night and we woke to a very bouncy boy  hes giving me cuddles every two minutes :huggles: the bruisings improving so qiuckly too,so where pleased with what a difference a day makes

though still uncertain about his wound but the vet was hopeful it will knit together as it had started to granulate  so will keep our fingers crossed he wont need surgery again :luck:

thanks everyone for all the advice and well wishes :huggles:

Hi Trish,
Just wondering how the Kiplin lad is today???

hi thanks for saking about my lad,was a little worried this morning because he decided to try to hump finley and must have knocked his wound which started dripping watery blood  :sweating: it stopped pretty quickly and hasnt leaked since,im just hoping that the wound will heal without anymore surgery.

his bruising on his back leg is still coming out which as suprised me as i thought it would be all out by now,he as fresh deep red bruising coming out near where his testicles should be,suppose hes lucky in the sense hes a cryptorchid ;)

Humping Finley!!! well he must be on the mend :)) but joking aside its probably best if he does'nt jump around to much but yes, i realise this is a tall order for a whippet :b

do you have to go back to the vets? do they want to see him again?

still sending hugs to the beautiful lad :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

we go back on monday evening, that when the orignal stitches where due to come out,so they might leave the staples in a few days more.

its hard keeping kiplin down cause hes got such a strong will :sweating: ;)

hows the lovely finbarr doing hope not so much trouble as his lookalike :p :huggles:

Well Trish, i got to tell you that Finbarr is doing absolutely fine, like Kiplin he lights up my life, i just love him so much :)) but its funny you should mention strong willed, maybe it not just looks that Kip and Finn share :))

Good luck at the vets on Monday once the stitches start coming out he'll just get better and better

hes doing ok is the lad,all the bruising as almost gone now

his wound is looking a little better than what it was because it as leaked fluid a couple of times through small openings which is a worry still but where hopeful on monday the vet will say its ok and either take them out or give it a few more days???

what ever he did that day i think he got off lightly judging all the bruising he had, hopefully hes learnt his lesson ;)

thanks everyone for asking and been concerned for my boy ...hes one in a million to us  :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

lets hope he continues to get better everyday hes a lovely lad

:huggles: to you all
