:( aww iv been up all night with my baby ollie ,hes not been well at all hes had the run and sickness all night ,im thinking it may have been summ duff meat we had of the butcher ,as he was fine untill he had his dinner and then about 2hrs later he was poorley ,he seems litttle better this morning hes not been sick since 7ish but still has runny bum ,he is drinking loads of water which is good ,i will not let him eat today and see how he goes if hes still same by 4 hes of to vets :huggles:

im thinking i may change back from raw meat to tinned as they always seem to have dodgy bellys even thou im carfull and freeze the meat i dont buy em crap i allways get em good stuff ,but maybe ther is somthing im doing wrong ,so i think il change back to tins anybody got any recomendations ,i dont like the thought of just feeding them a compleate so that not an option ,thanks in advance from a bloody shattered nicky -_- -_-

Are you defrosting the meat carefully Nicky.?? It may be some kind of a bug and not the meat at all. and they do have a habit of eating aweful things when they go out...that is if they are anything like my lot too. Allow the meat to come to room temperature before feeding too.

I mix the raw meat with a little mixer and raw veggies...although sometimes even too much vege can give mine the squits too.

Hope Ollie is feeling better soon... :huggles:

Nicky,

Mine get meat and veg but it is all cooked. All the boys love it and thrive on it. Whilst I've been showing Diesel I have had the quality of his coat commented on a number of times. They also get oily fish both fresh and tinned added to mixer biscuits.

Beau was on a complete but was turning his nose up in preference to what the other two are having. The only reason he was on a complete was that it seemed to manage his weight better. He's now been on the same as Al and Diesel for about three months. Thankfully his weight is staying the same as usual.

They also have Dorwest Herbs evening primrose oil. I started this as Beau is prone to dry skin. As they are all treated the same they all get them.

Also if I have the oven on rice pudding or egg custard goes in and they have their portion of that.

I don't particularly find it time consuming as I am always cooking for us anyway. On the odd time that I have run out or the boys are off colour I keep the odd tin of Butchers Tripe in and that always goes down a treat.

Cooking isn't difficult and providing you know what veg they can't eat there isn't a problem. Recently we invested in a slow cooker. The raw meat and veg get put in there covered with a small amount of water. It is set on low for 8 hours and it takes care of itself.

I hope Ollie is alright and that you don't end up with another visit to the vets. :D :huggles:

Ahh poor Ollie. Did any of the others eat the same meat Nicky?

all mine are now on raw lamb tripe and lamb /pork beef bones with mixer and i can honestly say ive never seen them look so good , an old stew pot is great too for cooking up veg and odd meats , i do a doggy stew about once a week and all the things going a little off colour go in and the dogs love it , can boil up reduced supermarket fish too with a little rice, i live by the sea and river so cheap fish is always about , even the ferret gets raw fish!!!

good luck nicky hope he is fine soon , maybe give him some natural live yoghurt to settle his tum

Awwwwwwwww poor Ollie, hope he alot better today :huggles: :huggles:

little update on ollie ,not long after posting this hes started being sick again ,so i took him vet and they have given him an injection to stop him being sick they said he doesnt have a blockage of any sort but must have picked up some bug as all the others had exactly the same meat as him and they are fine (touches wood)he has to go back in morning at 9.30 if hes no better ,mine get cooked veg pasta and rice and sardins and all good meat as any of you who no me will no that nothing is to good for my babies, so i dont just buy all the scraps of meat of the butcher i have before now bought each of them top quality pieces of steak so im thinking the quality of meat is ok as it is what us humans would eat and ther doing fab on it maybe a little to good as my vet is always on at me to cut down ther food ,hes now getting spoilt rotten and pampered as we speak and hopfully he can now settle and have a sleep as hes hardly had any sleep all night bless him :huggles:

Hope Ollie is feeling better now :)) and he gets well soon :huggles:

I hope Ollie feels better soon, Nicky - maybe he's just having some stomach cramps like we do if we've had a touch of food poisoning or a bug?

:luck: :luck: for a quick recovery  :huggles:

Not trying to be funny Nicky, but steak... (w00t) it just might be a bit too on the rich side fo them too often,. Now and again maybe...

and might be better if you minced it up first. I hope he is feeling better after the vets trip though.. :huggles:
