Sounds like a lovely place Jenny, Sparky was very lucky and what a lovely lady to sit with the little daxie, they deserve to do very well.

Poor William, I'm so pleased he seems better today and let him have his lamb and dumplings, he deserves them.
A few weeks ago my father died, we took Sparky up to Lancashire with us, we decided it was best to have Sparky cared for on the day of the funeral by a local boarding kennel, I rang and explained the reason for asking if they could have him for just one night and day.  The kennel owner gave me his mobile number and told me to ring when we got there whatever the time, it didn't matter.  We arrived a bit late,  rang the number and the gentlemen immediately came and opened the gates for us, he then settled Sparky into a kennel and even though we had taken his bed he had a lovely bed waiting for him.  We then talked about what food he ate and he said not to worry he would find something to tempt him.  We went to collect him at 5pm the next day and out bounced Sparky, he had given him tripe to eat which he had wolfed down and he had had a great time just watching all the other dogs.  Then we were told there would be no charge.  I was quite humbled by this.  On our way out there was a lady sitting in a kennel with a dog, he explained that was his wife, he didn't always keep her in a kennel but a little daxie was finding it all a bit traumatic so she was trying to calm him and give him some TLC.  We were completely blown away by these people, what a shame there are such extremes.

You have to complain Helen because people should not take on the responsibility of other peoples pets and treat them so poorly, Luv You William

Jenny

Sounds a lovely place Jenny pity its not a bit closer to me then William might not look as he does

I am stunned. That is appalling to hand back dogs in that condition. I cannot think of any reason that would excuse their condition.
On a happier note, finally, have finished Owen's collar today. Will be posted on Monday. :)

Thanks Julie I'lll look forward to it arriving and will post some pictures of him wearing it .It is good timimg too as it is Owen's 4th birthday tomorrow (Sunday)

so glad willie's feeling better :huggles: :huggles: today

hes such a lovely boy good job i cant get my hand on the : women

should be closed down as helen says shes used this kennel before with no problems but this is bad really bad

What a shame those sores look awful and so painful. That is a disgrace hope they are all better very soon :huggles: You'd think they would have been mortified and full of apoligies handing the dogs back to you like that? Surely they didn't charge you anything?

Good news I have just spoken to the kennels and her insurance will pay for William's vets bill :D I have to pay them then she can claim of the insurance and they will send me the cheque for his treatment

Get that in writing, Helen! And I agree with the others - when this is all over the place needs to be reported to the RSPCA or some other body, so that other dogs don't end up in the same state.

I'm so sorry to hear this story, it makes me feel sick :( I have seen pressure sores like that in humans when I was nursing and they do develop surprisingly quickly, but the woman should have been checking the dogs over while they were in her care and taking remedial action

I've got to go to a wedding in September and was thinking of putting Josie and Lola into a dog boarding house near us for the weekend, but I'm having second thoughts now  I'm going to go and do some very thorough looking around first. I wish all places were like the one Jenny experienced.

Glad to hear that William is feeling better Helen. Get the insurance thing in writing as Helen says...better to be safe than sorry. Big hugs to willie and the gang :huggles:

OMG Helen thats awful! Poor william he is all skin and bones! :( Hope him and the whippies are feeling better soon :)

blaze sends lots of :huggles: :huggles: :huggles: for his doggy family wishing them a speedy recovery!

i am lost for words the kennel should be closed down, the pain and suffering they caused your dogs is disgusting, i work in a boarding kennel and i can honestly say that if your dog will not eat after the first day out comes the human food and if a dog gets as much as a scratch on it the dog gets treated straight away. i am very fussy who looks after my dogs but i know when i leave them at the kennels they get treated as well there as they do at home. the kennel that had your dogs should go and work in a proper boarding kennel and learn how dogs should be looked after  . big hugs and kisses for your dogs and hope the feel better soon

 that is an outrage, helen  definately, at the least, inform all relevant authorities, because no dog should come out in that state. all our family already know that either our dogs come with us, or we wont come at all.

OMG thts awful those kennels should be shut down

hope william is back to normal soon :huggles: :luck: :luck:

I SHOULD JOLLY WELL THINK SO ITS THE LEAST SHE CAN DO

AS PPL HAVE SAID GET ITIN WRITING HELEN

:huggles: :huggles: TO ALL

F... hell! This is just appalling! It just so happens that tomorrow I leave my Freddie (10 months) in kennels for the first time. I'm dreading it, and now dread it even more. You must have been gutted when you collected yours. Poor all of yous!

Oh my goodness... you poor little pups.. I hope they get better soon

poor Wiiliam and friends, he should've been treated before the sores got so bad, he'll be glad to see you back now, sure he'll soon be on the mend with your love

:luck: :huggles: to them all

Jenny what's the name of that nice kennel in Lancs, our friends are looking for one for next year ?

thanks

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a list of GOOD kennels in the FAQ section. Any person well known here, who had a very positive experience could list the kennels there. :)

(w00t)   OMG, I did not expect anything as bad as this.  How long have they been there?  The sore looks like an abscess that burst.  That should have been treated.  Did you see the kennel runs?  There should not be anything sharp for the dogs to injure themselves.  If your dogs have not had problems being left before i would report these people.  I do not know how are boarding kennels controlled in UK, here they have to have a permit issued by the local council, which sends an inspector without notice in regular intervals.  :luck:   :luck:   :luck:

Thats what my OH said as soon as I showed him the picture Lida, burst absess :(

I think that's a great idea. My 3 went to kennels in May and i couldn't recommend them enough. My family have used the kennel for years. They were most accomodating with their BARF diet, and didn't mind me bringing in bags full of meat and chicken wings, veg and eggs! All three came out looking fantastic and i can honestly say that Frankie could have gone to a show the day he came out he looked so good! I sent them a Thank You card to let them know how impressed i was.

Helen, i hope yours make a full recovery soon.
