hi folkes,

i got the dreaded chicken pox..... been confirmed today :(

has anyone got any advice for how to get over it quickly? i been confined to indoors only for 2 days now and im already stir crazy. (w00t)

even my other half has been avoiding me as if i got the plague (although it does mean i get the bed to myself!)

just have my three kids with chickenpox! take antihistmine to help with the itch! lots of camomile and bath in bicarbonate soda helps to sooth the spots if u have them! my girl was covered from head to foot while my son was just a few! there granny caught them too ! have 7 days of work or school. And you are contagious for 7 days! we could'nt go anywhere!

Hope you dont feel too sick! get better soon :huggles:

Aw I'm really sorry to hear this...hope you feel better very soon hun, don't scratch! Get some calomine to put on your spots to stop them itching...and make your OH do EVERYTHING for you...from a distance... :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

aloe vera gel helps with the burning  also as said bathe in bicarb of soda , my 3 had it a few years ago, one at a time  oh no they couldnt all have it at the same time now could they !!!! i had 6 weeks of kids off scool  . my mum had an aloe vera plant and we just broke leaves off it and rubbed it on the spots , worked a treat

:( Aw sorry you are ill. dont scratch the spots no matter what cos they will scar. My son had them really bad when he was small - he had them inside AND outside of his body and he had the fattest lip I have ever seen in my life  :luck: :luck: hope you feel better soon

rite then thats bi carb, aloe vera plant, calomile lotion so far on my list!

oh i got on on inside of my lip.

i thought it was just the scabs that caused the scars..... please dont take the only pleasure i have away from me ie squeezing the spots..... :(

lol some would say i couldnt make much more of a mess of my face lol

ok, i wont itch the ones on my face.... how bout that?

your poor brother nicky!

when i had them i found scrating somewhere that i didnt have the spots seemed to relieve the need to scratch the spots themself...i know how mental it sounds lol.

just to lower the tone and lighten the mood, when i had chicken pox i got them really bad inside my "flower". my mum was always on a me not to scratch so i would scutch myself along the carpet like a dog with an itchy arse (w00t)

Stop it this minute! You mustn't scratch - I know you know, but you need telling again :- " Not taking much notice are we :- " They might get infected as well. There's a cream available from chemists or I think they have it in Tescos and the like now - it's brilliant, and it's called Eurax. It's the only thing that stops me scratching mozzie bites when I'm on my hols.

Hope you're feeling better soon
