when i had them i found scrating somewhere that i didnt have the spots seemed to relieve the need to scratch the spots themself...i know how mental it sounds lol.
just to lower the tone and lighten the mood,  when i had chicken pox i got them really bad inside my "flower". my mum was always on a me not to scratch so i would scutch myself along the carpet like a dog with an itchy arse  (w00t)

Will second the bicarbonate of soda in the bath water. It works wonders.

i'll let you guys into a little secret.....................

noone has a big enough computer screen for a picture of the spots on me bum!!

you cheeky minx's (w00t)

you should keep a close eye as chicken pox in adults can be realy nasty. when my kids all had it i had no imunitys to it ,and gp gave me a perscription as a precaution . and if i had got it i was to take the medication at the first sign. thankfully i didnt get . hope you better soon.

GET YOURSELF SOME 'AVEENO' BATH OIL FROM THE CHEMIST

EXPENSIVE...£7 FOR A BOTTLE BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY, YOU PUT IT IN THE BATH AND SOAK IN IT

IT GOES LIKE THIN WATERY PORRIDGE OATS AND STOPS THE ITCHING

MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER , STOPS SCRATCHING AND RISK OF SCARRING

IT WORKS

HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON :huggles:

Poor you, Sarah :(

Scratching will scar ............ even the lightest of scratches (w00t)

PM me your addy, I will send you some cream which will stop the itch

Hope you feeling better soon :huggles: I had them when I was little and itchy was an understatement (w00t) I think you get camoline lotion in a gel form now that is not so messy :- "

glad i can cheer u up love lol.

we go camping alot, and do one huge groupe camp on the may bank holiday. last year one of the kids from the building crew ( we go with a few others to set up the markee and other communal area's) had chicken pox and his face was propper spotty so we took a pic of him and put it on the website warning everyone that the mozzies were really bad this year and to bring lots of bug spray....it was so funny (w00t)

aw get well soon.

I get shingles regular due to stress and low immunity so I sympathies greatly.

Aloe vera, bicarb, calamine even paracetamol if it gets to bad :huggles:

thanks everyone for the great advice and Jane for the offer of some magic cream.

im caught somewhere between being in pain and itchy like you wouldnt believe and i have woke up with a major sore throat.

i wish the drs would have offered my other half the option of some medication as coping with this on my own is depressing. :(

Make sure you drink loads...thats all the advice I can give...water I mean...or something like lucozade...its full of suger but that does give you a bit of a lift when you're feeling down

Heya sarah

If your throat is unbearable, it's possible you may have a touch of tonsilitis as well :(

With a normal sore throat, such as one caused by a virus, a couple of paracetamol every 6 hours should keep it under control but with a more severe infection you will need a stronger painkiller such as co-dydramol (prescription only) and possibly antibiotics if your throat is ulcerated

I've posted that packet to you, 1st class!!! Hang in there, kid

Are you still poorly Sarah :huggles:

If it helps any you missed a good day :*
