Ross Attacked

Hi Garry. Sorry to see that Ross has had this mishap and that he soon gets over it with no lasting problems. Incidents like this are all too frequent and we all are increasingly on our guard. I was out with my 3 last week, on leads ,when thisGSD ran at us growling. Now that in itself is offputting especially for older people(not me :p ) and those with heart problems for example. The ****dy fools that own them should be aware of the implications. I eventually got rid of this GSD by throwing my coat at it. I made my thoughts(politely...NOT) known to the owner saying that i didn't need that ,I come out to walk my dogs not to fight hers off. Any dog of that size in my view needs to be muzzled if off a lead(and by definition not under control). The sooner the legislators realise this and realise many other aspects to do with large/dangerous dogs, the better.

Anyway Garry mate, when I take more pics of the lovely Ross i'll use his good side :- " .

Best wishes Chris

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes to Ross, Im very touched and grateful.

We just got back from the vet, he is happy with his recovery rate and there is only skin damage.

So I thought I post a picture of him today doing what whippets do best…chilling out.

His only problem seemed to be when we got back from the vet originally that he had a light meal that night, which he ate as normal, then stood looking at his bowl as if to say “is that it then?”

By the following morning he was romping with Quinn (Terraquinn) and I had to intervene, then he proceeded ragging his toys, again I had to intervene as they were crashing against his sides, maybe he was just saying “look its ok and not tender at all”.

So all in all there doesn’t seem to be much wrong with him physically, (mentally he’s still a little git).

Thanks again for all your kind wishes.

Well I don't think that any of us who know Ross would think that his normal bouncy self would stay supressed for long. Even two visits to the vets (w00t) couldn't do it. It takes more than this is keep a 'little git' down thank goodness.

Another nice pic posted to the board. There will be no stopping you now.

nice to hear hes getting back to his normal self.

Awwww.... Ross is so brave 8) At least he stayed still long enough for you to take a picture Gary :D Give him a cuddle from us :huggles:

Sorry to hear about Ross, Gary. Something similar happened to Fozzy when she was a two year old. We were on our way back from Cornwall and had stopped off at the service station on the M5 at Exeter. We were walking our dogs through the carpark (on leads of course) when a GSD appeared. Fozzy wanted to kill the dog of course but, the other dog took offence to all the barking and bit Fozzy on the side and then ran off.

This type of wound heals quite quickly, and Fozzy was back on the track three weeks later winning her weight group at the championships, and the next month went on to clinch the top ten title. Maybe this could be a lucky omen for you, and Ross could go on to achieve something similar.

Still not sure about the name Heros though. Lucy still wants you to call him "The Milky Bar Kid".

See you soon.

poor Ross , sending him lots of :huggles: for a continued speedy recovery, when the hair grows back he'll still be beautiful.

Just exactly what did 'this will be interesting' mean as a man lets off a big dog that he knows is 'funny' with others

definately report it to the police, I know they're busy with other stuff but at least there'll be a record of the attack so when next time it happens they can do something about it, as I'm sure it will in this mans hands, the idiot.

 Fozzy could see of 3 GSDs and a doberman NO problem ;)

Milky Bat Kid is brilliant - It would really suit Ross, you should do it Gary :D

:b Um I don't think that it was the Milky Bat Kid Judy. Though come to think of it..............................

And anyway there aren't two of the same letters together AND the name doesn't contain Ross (pet name). There is some kind of method in Garry's choice of name. Allegedly. :- "

Hi Gary :)) sorry to hear that Ross has been attacked :( BLOODY IDIOTS  Some people  sorry i didnt answer sooner, but couldnt get onto k9 for a couple of nights AGAIN :( so pleased he is making a good recovery :huggles: Ross is such a lovely boy :huggles:

Hope Ross recovers soon.

There has been an influx of aggressive dogs near me, I have got a pair of steel topcapped boots and I wear them when walking my boys. I don't even dare let them off lead now whereas 6 months ago they had free funning every day. More often than not the aggressive things are off lead as well  . Saying that I don't blame the dogs, it is not their fault that their people are stupid idiots. It it the poor dog that pays with it's life if anything happens. Any owner whose dog attacks should be banned from keeping dogs for life. I am sure some will disagree with me on this........
