according to hear say, bwra championships, i have have heard that racing must be finished by 4p.m and the stadium vacated by 5p.m . to run all races off to supreme....IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN....please could you let me and others know if this is true.....

ricky

Ricky, if your on about the b/chps. I think what was said at the AGM. was if we couldnt get any leeway on the time factor, they were going to move the ch/ships elsewhwere.

john up to now i havent heard anything differnt than racing finishing at 4 pm stadium cleared by 5 pm

askern would be a brill track for champs and more central for scottish people also to get too, we must think of them also when arranging big events like the champs.....FAIRS FAIR

Thats right John.

just looked at the hall green website and it looks top class...just like stainforth last year, where the track, the sand and facialities were top class, sorry but for the championship askern doesn't have this. and, i have no particular interest as i'll probably not have a dog to run...

regards,

paul

Well Said debbie fair for all

Interesting comment there Paul, I didn't see you there on Sunday to comment on the track and sand which IMO are BETTER than Stainforth.

People can sit in the bar and watch the racing on the big screen at Askern, or even out the window if they wish. The cafe coped perfectly well on Sunday as well. Every inch of the track can be seen from the traps round. Just because it's NGRC doesn't mean Hall Green, as Debbie has said is the FAIR option.

PLUS We wouldn't have a time limit and everyone would be able to get something to eat or drink from early on. From what we have been told Hall Green will not open the cafe for a drink until 12pm.

5 hours travelling for an 11am weigh in and nothing to eat or drink for another hour - I wouldn't do it.

must agree askern as changed for the better the running surface is second to none IMO. would cope very well with any champion ships :D

YOUR DEAD RIGHT RICKY..I THINK IT WILL BE A POOR END TO THE DAY IF ALL FINALS HAVE TO BE RUN BY 4PM.

fair play to askern it sounds great from what i hear  comments about tracks like this Paul is unnecessary :( haven't we lost enough venues or is it because its maybe to far north for you fresh air and that :p lol i for one wont fancy trying to get out of Birmingham at teatime on a Sunday :( if its true about the times we are allowed to be in the stadium top class or not it will be unworkable .

askern has been improved for the better but i dont think it gives bigger dogs a chance and even if the line was moved still dont think it will be long enough. hall green is better class than askern imo and it is only rumours that u have to b out by 4 nobody of the top table has confirmed it. hall green dont race on a sun night so surely time factor will be sorted but only time and a member of the top table will confirm this.

I think you should be intrested Paul if you like racing your dogs, if we all took a back seat and made negative comments we wouldn't get very far!

Regarding Askern, the surface is very good, the bends are spot on,and you are made to feel welcome. But, if I was to pick fault, the car park and the cafe could be bigger!

Come and see for yourself! Colin & Alison Armstrong are putting a bend meetig on, on February 12th.

not being akward folks but askern hall green or any other track that would offer us racing would not like to see negative comments about there tracks on the web as it does them no good lets just all take a chill pill and all look forward to this years racing and be thankful that owners of tracks are letting us race . :luck:

ps its not very nice to the people that arrange these events for us like the bwra and nnwrf and some people that do it off there own backs so we can race and we know the tracks because soon it may be a case of beggers cant be chosers. :- "

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, and those who raced last sunday have only praise for the track running surface, and after all its the dogs that have to be considered first and foremost.

my point was Hall Green is a championship venue, and maybe Askern is not, but would still be most suitable for other events...that is all...

and, as to travelling it always makes me laugh when i'm told it's only 3 hours to venue from the south, cos that bit is true, is getting home to the south on a sunday night which is the pain. twice last year it took 5 hours to get home from asfordby, due to weight of traffic...

once again i have not criticised askern...

regards

Paul

Well said tony i think you are right they both good tracks so dont see how you can say either are not fit for championships imo both would do nicely  and i

suppose people with bigger dogs prefer longer tracks but ive got big and little lol and think we should be glad to have good tracks that will let us run :D chris
