Yes Shelia i agree that Doreen works very hard and with all you say---- its not the likes of me that need convincing ---my idea was to get things underway ASAP--and the No-limit don't require weighing and most folk know what class they will be in with big dogs --40lb or 36lb .

It is a fact that there is far too much time taken sorting the heats out though--and getting the programes on sale---even if they had a large blackboard for no-limit and heavy weights they could make a start much ealier than they do at present

this was what i had in mind -i am not knocking anyone mearly suggestions that may help if time was a factor----and even if it is not this would still probably be a option ---

The last two meetings i have helped at have all set the scratch and pup and vet racing off whilst the main handicap has been worked out and printed, doing this has saved so much time on the racing that each meeting has been well finished before the end of daylight, it is worth contemplating if time is an issue.

This is just a suggestion and is in no way intended to nock anyone who wishes to race another way, if all the racers and the workers pull on the same rope the same way then i am sure that time will not be a problem.

i thoroughly agree with shiela half the time its racers takin the time and not following were the racing is at and causing the delays

Just let the Committee worry about the time element and make sure you play your part by getting to the traps on time and not taking too long to find your trap floors (think of those who are working on your behalf).
This could be a great Championship so just think positively and not negatively all the time.

Good luck on the day.

Sheila Webb

P.S. Also it must be the fairest way being that none of the dogs entering will have run on the track before.

Exactly right sheila...now most members are aware of the time limit (if any) lets hope they don't dillydally

I personally was not planning on attending the champs, only because as i haven't got a dog good enough for bend racing, but i would be quite happy to come down and help if it is needed... members should be thinking positive instead of negative all the time....

good on you tony ... there could be a book run on fastest dog of the day too

HOW ABOUT DOING AWAY WITH KICK AND FRONT BOARDS FOR CHAMPS, COS IT IS THIS THAT TAKES UP LOADS OF TIME..AND IT WOULD BE THE SAME FOR ALL DOGS THEN..

our dogs are brough up with kick boards, could cause injury as the dogs would be all over getting out :( better off getting a venue where time is not a problem

Give it a rest jasper

i dont bend race but i do use a kickboard on the straights i think it must take all of ten seconds to put a kick board in lol

Only ever once put me 16lb out of greyhound traps without a kick board and she was off for 3 months, She ripped all the muscle in the stomach. I won't be at the champs. keeping all my money to race on the straights but good luck to every one that is racing, where ever it is at.

thats a long time for some men carole :- " Jasper maybe take 20 seconds

As far as i am aware i cant think of any bend meeting apart from the one last year at Warwick where the finals have not been run ---this was only due to the fact the lure kept breaking ---- this is pure speculation that it could or would ever happen again---

like J Meades said all others have finished well before the onset of darkness==

We will soon know wont we -----

Thats the time to reflect--not before--no doubt any comments that help will be

appreciated though.
