Seeing RLS's photos from Ireland has inspired me to post my own holiday on Mull recently.

Unfortunately no photos of the boys, as they didn't come along, but I thought I'd share them anyway, as it's such a beautiful place.

This is where we stayed....a view of Tobermory (or Balamory if you're a junior member!)

It was difficult to get the whole harbour front it, so tried a wide angle shot. It does look a bit odd.....

We did all the usual things we love to do. Hillwalking.....

Cooling our feet off at the beach.....

A view of the beach, with its beautiful white sands...

Visiting the natural coastal features....(there were too many to see in one week!).

All too soon it was time to leave :(

I even managed shot or two from the ferry :teehee:

..and guess who I contrived to sit next to, to while away the crossing with.....a gorgeous Parson jack russel

MullMay07173copy.jpg

..she was taking more of an interest of the waves than me. She wanted to chase them in true terrier style... :sweating:

...I've now got to count down the next twelve months until we're back in Scotland again.

Lovely photos as always Nicola! The houses in the harbour are so pretty and I love the view of the beach and the lighthouse photos. Hope you had a nice time.

Really enjoyed looking at those. Its such a beatiful place and they are absolutely fantastic pics.

Superb photos Nicola - I always enjoy seeing your pics as you seem to visit some lovely places.

I have never been to Mull, but it is on my wish list of places I would love to see. :)

Glad you had a lovely time Nicola. Enjoyed your photos even if there were no whippets (or mini-schnauzers!) in them. We've always fancied a holiday on Mull - maybe next year. There are just so many beautiful places to visit in Britain and never enough time to visit them all. :( Looking forward to Ireland though, this summer. :D

Lovely pictures. It looks like a beautiful place, I've only been to Scotland (Pitlochrie) once but would love to go a bit further north to the wilder parts.

Lovely pics Nicola

Thanks everyone. :) It's lovely to be able to show my photos to folk on K9.

They're still not as sharp as they should be but I'm still working on it :b

Mull is just lovely. It gets under your skin. It doesn't look very exciting at first, if you just drive to the most famous touristy spots on the island, i.e. Tobermory and Iona, but once you start to explore, it's just the most varied and lovely place, and the ever changing colours of the sea are just fabulous. There are lots of islands to explore around Mull too. It was something else signalling to the ferry man to come and pick you up and take you across a bay, and practically have an island to yourself, with red deer roaming about and eagles whirling high above.

To top it all off we saw some wild otters playing on the shore on our last day. We didn't think we would see any but we were wrong! They were too far away for my lens to get a good picture but it was worth just sitting quietly and watching them. :huggles:

Scotland's not for everyone at this time of year...it can be chilly, wet and windy on the islands, but if you love the outdoors, and don't mind lots of walking and getting wet, and having to wear waterproofs a good deal of the time...it's really beautiful!

Oh wow! super duper piccies  So beautiful, Im thinking of going to Ireland at the mo ( see my other post :b ) if i can find out where exactly! but never been to Scotland either ..... now its next on my list!!!!

What breathtaking scenery Nicola, no wonder you enjoyed it so much - looks like heaven on earth - so peaceful.

Wonderful pictures. :)
