Has anyone else visited this beach?

We went on New Years day and I have never seen so many dogs on one beach. It was amazing chaos!
The funniest was watching an Old English Bulldog enjoying himself in the sea only for his owners to panic when the waves began to roll him back into the sea! They put him on his lead but he was desperate to go back in

Oh yes! Our fav in Cornwall. So dog friendly as are the local businesses. Happy days...

It's a bit of a mixture but I would say mostly sand. It was quite dark in colour also but lovely for the dogs

Ooh, that looks nice. I'm always on the lookout for good holiday cottages - short walk to sandy beach/safe heath, no sheep, no cliffs, enclosed garden, within 3ish hours drive... (Norfolk is perfect but just too far with a stresshound). I love Perranporth beach but haven't found the perfect cottage there.

Still, I have plenty of time to hunt as we're not going more than an hour or so drive away while Monty, the cat, is still with us. He'll be 21 in February.

We’re going to a lovely one in Norfolk Judy, been before so know it’s good. Has a small enclosed garden and about 15 mins to Wells on Sea or Holkham ( another favourite beach ) It’s called Wayside and it’s in Little Walsingham , could take the little train to Wells from there.
Our Cornish Christmas retreat ( the Byre at Bidna Farm) was gorgeous but gardens at that time of year were a bit wet so couldn’t make full use of them, had it’s own 3 acre wood too for dogs, be wonderful other times of year. Fantastic beach at Bude about 15 mins. Highly recommended.

We've stayed in Brancaster three times, @Mayblossom, and would happily go again... and again... and again... But it's so far, and takes in the M25, and the combination of the traffic and a dog who can go into meltdown if a loose chipping hits the windscreen means that the three of us are ragged with frayed nerves by the time we get there. And by the time we get home again as well!

We had a lovely week in Cornwall in the first week of October a couple of years ago, staying near Camborne as we have friends there. It's in easy reach to Portreath and Portowan and several other beaches, all dog friendly in October, and we had Tehidy Woods on our doorstep.

We live just inside the M25 Judy so everywhere we go it’s always there! Ok when it’s running but a nightmare if not! We’re lucky with the girls as you’d never know they were in the car til we get there do feel for you with Jasper , we had a neurotic Springer years ago that was a nightmare to travel. Guess you don’t feel like you’ve had a holiday when you get home

The first year in this cottage: Quaint Brancaster Cottage S71070, 3 Sawpit Cottages, Brancaster, England - Snaptrip It was good, but that grass is Astroturf and Jasper wouldn't poo on it!

Second year: Brancaster Cottage in Brancaster, Norfolk The location couldn't be beat, ince we'd checked for cars or dogs Jasper might not like we could walk all the way to the beach with him offlead. And it had a small but perfect well-enclosed garden But it was tiny, Jasper had to keep doing three-point-turns, and had to lie down with his head under a chair as there was so little floor space!

If I had to fault it, it would only be that it had a gravel driveway that J didn't like walking on (big wuss), and that it was separated by a low fence from the path to the owners' cottage and I don't trust him if anyone should put their hand over the fence to fuss him, so he had to be supervised in the garden. And the owner's mother often visited with her young, male and very entire lab, who she proudly told me 'had the best balls in the whole of Norfolk!' Jasper was a lot less impressed with him than she was....

Thanks for those Judy, will have a google , my terrier doesn’t like gravel but she’s small enough to carry if necessary Molly wouldn’t be happy to see another dog appear while she was in the garden....big balls or not !

Went to Brancaster last June. Stayed at 1 Sawpit Cottages. Backyard very small. Front garden flowers. Nowhere for I'm to just sniff about. Very small inside

There is a wonderful, extremely dog friendly place in Wales. Nine cottages, all with enclosed gardens. Three large fields for them to run in. The beach is very stony but only a few miles to several sunny, dog friendly beaches.
It is very isolated, no shops. We love it. Called Bach Wen

What a small world - we were neighbours, just a few years apart!

yes! such a beautiful beach and very close to the monkey sanctuary I believe!
